Building an APK Malware Detection System Using Static Analysis Method with MobSF Framework

In the tumultuous era of digitalization driven by the rapid advancement of information technology, human interaction with the surrounding environment has undergone a significant transformation. This paper addresses the cybersecurity challenges faced by Android smartphone users in Indonesia, particularly concerning Malware attacks. Through static analysis utilizing the MobSF framework, the research reveals that the investigated Malware is a type of Trojan capable of monitoring and stealing SMS and MMS data from Android devices, with the ability to transmit data in real-time through Telegram Bot accounts and specific phone numbers. The research conclusions emphasize the importance of preventive measures, such as downloading applications from trusted sources, avoiding suspicious links, and regularly updating the operating system. By comprehending the operations of this Malware, it is hoped that users can be more vigilant against potential cybersecurity threats. This paper contributes to understanding the increasingly complex landscape of Malware threats, presenting a detailed analysis of Malware activities and characteristics as a foundation for the development of more effective security solutions to safeguard Android smartphone users from evolving cyber threats.
