Comparison between contour volume method and DEM grid method in calculating reservoir capacity based on LIDAR data

This paper focuses on the improved methods and detail solution of producing high-precision DEM and closed contour lines based on LIDAR data. Two methods for calculating reservoir capacity are introduced, one is the traditional contour volume method, the other is the DEM grid method. The calculation results of the two methods are compared and analyzed, proving the importance and high-precision of LIDAR data.
