Equivalent inertia evaluation of new power system considering transient stability based on PSO-LSTM

The transient stability of the power system is closely related to the level of inertia, so accurately evaluating the level of inertia is of great significance for transient stability. To more accurately evaluate the equivalent inertia level of new power system, this paper proposes an online evaluation method for equivalent inertia based on PSO-LSTM network. Firstly, conduct extensive time-domain simulations in a new power system containing wind turbines to obtain a dataset for training the network; Secondly, regarding the difficulty in selecting hyperparameters for LSTM networks, using the PSO algorithm to optimize the hyperparameters; Then, based on LSTM network, establish an equivalent inertia evaluation model that represents the mapping relationship between system operating data and equivalent inertia. Finally, simulation analysis is conducted based on the new energy IEEE39 Buses system. The simulation results show that the proposed method has high accuracy in inertia evaluation of new power system.
