Secured and Energy Efficient Wireless System using Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface and PSO Algorithm

Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) or intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRSs) are regarded as one of the most promising and revolutionizing techniques for secured wireless communication and the energy efficiency of wireless systems. The research uses a reconfigurable intelligent surface with a UAV to develop a wireless communication system that is secure and energy efficient. Most of the work in the literature includes either energy efficiency or secrecy rate as an optimization parameter, but not both at the same time. Aiming to improve the system secrecy rate and energy efficiency system, a new objective function is derived that takes into account both parameters. The optimal value of this objective function is solved using the Particle swarm optimization algorithm, which maximizes the energy efficiency and secrecy rate of the system by finding the optimal values of the phase shift matrix of the RIS and the UAV’s beamforming vector. considering different quality of service (QoS) requirements and the minimum data rate requirements.
