Dual-Band Rectenna for Optimal RF Energy Harvesting in Wireless Applications

The work proposes an experimental rectifying antenna (rectenna) RF energy harvester to gather ambient energy from cellular devices running in the 1400 and 1800 MHz GSM band. The circuit converts Radio Frequency (RF) to Direct Current (DC) by combining an antenna with a rectifying circuit using an HSMS2850 diode. The rectenna's performance findings indicate a directivity of 6.972 dBi, gain of 4.5 dB, and radiation efficiency of about 60%. The suggested rectenna architecture may work out as an inexpensive tool for RF energy collecting and wireless power transmission. The prototype, which is constructed at a frequency of about 1446MHz, has a return loss of -19 dB and 1790MHz, has a return loss of -33 dB shows good agreement between simulated and measured results.
