The interaction between hydrogen isotopes and plasma facing materials is an important aspect in nuclear fusion. In present work, the transport behavior of deuterium in W-2.46Ni-1.04Fe alloy has been investigated through gas-driven permeation testing in the range of 723 K-923 K. The resulting parameters are: Phi (mol & sdot;m- 1 & sdot;s- 1 & sdot; P-0.5 a ) = 1.63 x 10-8exp( - 70.0 (kJ & sdot;mol- 1)/RT), D (m2 & sdot;s- 1) = 8.42 x 10-8exp( 36.2 (kJ & sdot;mol- 1)/RT) and KS (mol & sdot;m- 3 & sdot;P- 0.5 permeability and solubility of deuterium in W-2.46Ni-1.04Fe are much higher compared to pure tungsten. The results indicate that the binder phase surrounded by tungsten grains can significantly promote the permeation and retention of deuterium due to its unique microstructure.
