摘要
In the recent past, iron oxides nanoparticles have attracted tremendous attention due to their wide fields of applications including biomedical. Their magnetic properties allow them to be a very good candidate for hyperthermia application. Which is an oncological therapy, precisely when these nanoparticles are excited by an alternating current magnetic field; they produce localized heat that can be used to destroy tumor cells. It has been widely applied for in vitro purposes to make reliable and certain conditions for in vivo testing. This method has proven to be effective against tumors with minimal damage to nearby healthy cells. In this review, we report the synthesis and stabilization methods of iron oxide nanoparticles and the most recent developments in the use of theses magnetic solid materials as magnetic therapeutic agents for cancer therapy. Furthermore, we describe their magnetic behavior, and the unique ability to respond to magnetic field and to produce heating for hyperthermia application. The main challenges of this new anti-cancer therapy are the enhanced calorific value of these nanoparticles and the control of the local tumor temperature. However, this therapy still warrants in-depth investigation.
