Equivalent Modeling of PMSG Based Wind Farm for Subsynchronous Oscillation Analysis

Wind farms typically consist of numerous wind turbines connected through a collector network. Constructing an appropriate equivalent model is crucial for understanding the oscillation mechanism while preserving key characteristics. To this end, a full-order linear model of a wind farm based on Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) is created using the graphical block modeling method. By applying the principle of similarity transformation, an equivalent model capable of maintaining dominant oscillation characteristics is derived. The findings indicate that this equivalent model accurately retains the dominant oscillation features, reduces model complexity, and enhances simulation efficiency.
