Analysis and Reduction of Back-Reflection Straylight in Laser Ranging System

In the coaxial satellite laser ranging system or the other telescope-based measurement systems, the emitted beam produces backward reflection at the center of the secondary mirror, which affects the detector in the system. To reduce the impact of straylight, a new device for reduce the backward reflection of the secondary mirror has been proposed. The specific parameters of the device have been determined through numerical calculation and computer simulation. The device has been implemented in a 1.2 m laser ranging system and has been experimentally proven to reduce the laser straylight by 32.4 % with the single photon detector and there is an increase in the camera ' s contrast for target imaging, making it more effective to measuring the space target.
