摘要
A novel two-element triangular shaped microstrip antenna with defected substrate is presented. The work mentions the design of a novel MIMO (multiple input multiple output) system employing polarization diversity in order to get considerable amount of isolation meeting the requirements of current wireless communication scenario. The antenna works in the band 4.4 to 5.7 GHz thus enabling it to be conveniently used for covering N79 (4.4 to 5.0 GHz) and most of WLAN (5.15 to 5.85 GHz) bands enabling it suitable for 5G sub: 6 GHz applications. A defected substrate is utilized in order to get the lesser coupling between the antennas (−15 dB). The obtained isolation using the proposed antenna is in close proximity to current standards of MIMO devices and suitable to most of the wireless applications. The improved isolation is achieved using the compact dimensions of $21.37 \text{mm}\times 37\text{mm}\times 1.6\ \text{mm}$ with two antenna elements placed orthogonally. The antenna gives gain varying between 3.2 dBi to 5 dBi with radiation efficiency more than 80% in the entire working region.
