1Ransomware Attacks in the Healthcare Industry
    Aditi Kesarwani, Sarada Gochhayat

This paper explores the growing problem of ransomware attacks in the healthcare industry. It dives deep into the meaning of ransomware attacks and the basics of the attack such as how hackers gain access to data through the ransomware. Furthermore, this paper specifically focuses on hospitals and patients that are directly affected by the impact of ransomware attacks. This writing also includes information about noteworthy attacks in the health sector that have caught the attention of people around the world and how they were addressed. An aspect of Bitcoin has been added as cyber criminals demand ransom money in this currency from their victims. Lastly, this paper mentions steps that can be taken by hospitals to reduce the risk of getting infected by ransomware or what to do during a ransomware attack, such as having preventative safety measures in place with the use of antivirus software and Artificial Intelligence security systems as well has having a response plan during an attack. Apart from the Information Technology team in hospitals practicing these preventative measures, businesses and individuals should put in the time to implement these precautionary steps to ensure that they aren’t victims of ransomware attacks and that no one can gain access to any of their classified information. This paper was written by the researcher in a limited amount of time and the researcher was not able to conduct any of their own trials. Hence, all the information and data included has been previously collected from researchers around the world.

2Untitled #8: New Adventures in Conceptual Science of and for the Children - Liberating Science from the Serfdom of the Word to Create the World
    Evangelina Uskokovic,Theo Uskokovic,Vuk Uskokovic

Structurally and compositionally, scientific paper may be the stiffest of all literary genres. Problematically, stiffening forms of expression naturally breed equally stiffening patterns of behavior and thought, taking a profound toll on creativity of scientists who adopt these flawed forms of expression. To rejuvenate the creative potential of scientific thought, therefore, scientific paper as the most essential form of expression in sciences could undergo a renaissance. To spark this renaissance has been one major career goal of the senior author as a scientist. Here, the world's first scientific research paper composed only of figures and their captions is being presented. The paper contains neither the intro nor the methods section nor the discussion, let alone the conclusions; rather, they have all being mingled within the figures and their legends. The figures are, symbolically, untitled, as the typical title of abstract expressionist artwork was, insinuating the destination toward which the imagery comprising the paper is progressing throughout its content. While most figures were created by children, specifically a brother and a sister aged 9 and 7, respectively, the captions were created by the senior author and they were both arranged mostly chronologically, covering the period spanning from the beginning of the school year to the Halloween night to the New Year's day, the path reflected symbolically in the semantic terrain traversed by the content of the paper. To be loyal to the conceptual goal of the paper, its subject pertains to the use of written word among and by the scientists. This topic has been arrived at by the senior author after a strenuous search for inspiration throughout the course of the paper. Its self-reflective content notwithstanding, alongside its lyrical and aesthetic elements, the paper calls for the abolishment of the tool used to craft the paper per se, namely written word, and immersion in images as more fundamental experiential features instead. This conclusion is strengthened by the direct, albeit trivial, correlation demonstrated to exist between the academic stature of individuals and the abundance of words that they use in communication. The triviality of the empirical base employed to derive this correlation is being recognized, turning the paper into the world's first of a kind that denounces the research in it and distances itself from it, arriving at invaluably relevant semantic connections along the way. Given the content composed of figures and their legends alone, both of which are steadily lyrical, the case is also made for the creation of illuminated manuscripts in contemporary sciences, in analogy to those from the medieval era. Additionally, the paper serves as a gallery exhibition for the display of children's art, conforming to the concept of children's science, under the umbrella of which this paper is protected from the rain of the disparaging comments by the scientific community. In analogy with the world's first abstract oil in the history of human painting, Kupka's Amorpha, which came to life by the artist's tracing the movement of a child through space, the evolution of the paper away from the written word and verbalized research plans into wordless imagery, thus becoming the world's first fully abstract research paper, emerges similarly, that is, by following children's steps, from the beginning to the end. Simultaneously with the denouncement of realism and embracement of abstraction in children's art, universities and schools, including those where children attend art classes during the writing of the paper, are being deplored for their creativity-draining austerities and propagation of intellectual bigotries. As per the storyline of the paper, the immersion in wordlessness and abstract dreaminess are suggested as ways out and above of the walls and impasses of the academic experience.

3A Beach Ball’s Set to Fly: the Children’s Science Revolution
    Theo Uskokovic,Evangelina Uskokovic,Vuk Uskokovic

There is hardly a literary form more rigid than that of a natural science paper. The enforced usage of this literary form to communicate scientific ideas enforces similar rigidities in the patterns of behavior and thought among scientists, restraining the unbound flights of their imagination and creativity. The invention of unorthodox forms of scientific papers, in turn, can be a prolific driver of the evolution of science toward new epistemic and empirical grounds. This unconventionally structured scientific paper contains the senior author's diary-like, real-life observations regarding scientific research and play of two elementary school students, a boy and a girl aged 8-to-9 and 6, respectively, covering the period between the summers of 2021 and 2022. According to the paper's storyline, the authors are at first convinced that the paper should contain no focus on any particular research subject so that it can act as an expression of an uttermost rebellion against the wretched state in which science of the day finds itself. This gets inverted towards the end, when an earlier eschewed research idea gets accomplished by children, unknowingly to the senior author. Specifically, it is being shown that the popup height of a ball released from under water into the air depends nonlinearly on the depth of the release and is maximal for neither low nor high depths, but rather for the intermediate ones. This anomalous effect is subsequently analyzed in more detail and explained by (i) the thrust provided to spherical objects with optimal Reynolds numbers by the rapid recovery of the water surface cavity created by the ascending through it, and (ii) the oscillatory motion of the object at upward velocities higher than one half of the terminal. While the former effect increases the popup height compared to the theoretically predicted one, the latter effect lowers it. The expression and the elaboration of the findings are preceded by numerous points in the text where the snippets of real-life children's play are being enriched and analogized with reference to different anomalies of water. Occasionally throughout the paper, also, the criticism of contemporary science is being provided, given the intended role of a perfect scientific paper being not only to report novel research findings, but also to relate to science of its times as a whole. The message intended to be conveyed by coupling a research study to the description of children's play is that today's science needs to look after children as models for how to restore a purer, archetypal wonder untainted by ego, money and politics, which have stolen the heart and soul from it. Papers like this intend to trace the steps leading toward the rescue and restoration of this heart and soul in science at both its epistemic and social levels.

4Who, or Rather, What Painted This? Generation Z's Attitudes Towards Artificial Intelligence Artworks
    Juliette Park, Rhonda McGee

Throughout art history, the exact boundaries of what can and cannot be considered art has long been debated, and the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms that produce artworks has rekindled this debate in the context of technology. History indicates that the answer to what is considered “art” largely depends on the evaluator’s personal definition of creativity and their perception of the artist, which gives reason to investigate people’s attitudes towards AI art. Pre-existing research has discovered a negative perception bias towards AI artists in adult generations. However, no studies have been conducted on Generation Z specifically. Gen Z possesses a close association to technology which distinguishes them from previous generations, and could therefore produce differing attitudes towards AI art. Therefore, this study seeks to investigate: what are Generation Z’s attitudes towards AI art? This study defined “attitudes” to combine attitudes towards the artist, and attitudes towards the artworks. Therefore, a mixed method study consisting of 1) a ratings test to examine any perception biases towards AI artists, and 2) a questionnaire to investigate the criteria Gen Z used to determine value in AI artworks were combined to answer this question. It was concluded that Generation Z had a neutral attitude towards AI artists and responded rather well to AI art styles of landscape paintings.

5Students’ Self-Identified Social Group and Their Perceptions of a Social Hierarchy at Their School
    Hailey Surace, Rhonda McGee

This research explores whether high school students’ perceptions of the prevalence of a social hierarchy at their school vary depending on the status of the students’ self-identified social group. Multiple past studies and popular media have identified that students of all age levels form social groups with similar peers, and these groups often have different popularity and status rankings within the school environment. Previous research has noted that students’ perceptions of peer dynamics can vary based on one’s own social group, and this study explores this specifically by comparing students’ perceptions of the prevalence a social hierarchy at their school to their self-identification with one of the 12 social groups defined in a study titled Contemporary College Students’ Reflections on Their High School Peer Crowds by Rachel Gordon and other researchers in 2019. A voluntary, electronic survey was sent to students of North Creek High School asking students to describe their social group’s status level and their opinion of the prevalence of a social hierarchy at North Creek. Analysis of the 125 survey responses found that there was a significant positive correlation between the self-identified status of a student’s social group and the student’s perception of the prevalence of a hierarchy. Additionally, self-identified high-status students identified more distinct and stereotypical social groups at their school than self-identified low-status students did. The connections these results have to past research are discussed and avenues for further exploration are identified.
