Center for Strategic Studies (Persian: مرکز بررسیهای استراتژیک) is an Iranian think tank on strategy issues. It is the research arm of the Iranian President's office. The current head of organization is Mohammadsadegh Khayatian.
The authors of the present paper argue that Iran’s foreign policy behavior has to be analyzed, not through the prism of “nation state” but “civilization state” if one is seeking to get it right.Under the idea of “nation state”, the structure of the international system determines the behavior of a state. Since the nature of the international system is defined by anarchy, the neorealism mindset prescribes power accumulation to ensure survival. And offensive neorealism defines “maximization of power” and “hegemony” as the end goal of states. But the purpose of Iran’s foreign policy is not to seek hegemony. Iran has an ancient history, a rich culture and a distinct civilization. It behaves within the framework of a “civilization state”, not a “nation state”. Iran’s influence goes beyond the border of a “nation state” because of its civilizational reach, its cultural heritage, and its historical links with modern nations in Western Asia, caucasia and central Asia. contrary to the pattern of hegemony pursued by a “nation state”, a “civilization state” focuses on cultural and human factors first. It is the flow of ‘soft power’. That’s a true way to understand Iran’s foreign policy practices.
The aim of this study was to identify stable rice genotypes tolerant to a salt stress environment and to identify ideal mega-environments using AMMI (additive main effects and multiplicative interaction) stability model analysis. A total of 13 rice genotypes and three salt tolerance checks were evaluated across 13 salt stress locations (alkaline and saline) for the two kharif seasons of 2014 and 2015. Genotype CSR 36 (CHK3) was found to be the most ideal of those tested. Genotypes CHK2 (CST 27) and IR 87952-1-1-1-2-3-B (G05) were found to be the most stable, with above average yields. The check CSR 36 (CHK3) genotype was the best performer in the majority of the environments studied, followed by CSR 27 (CHK2) and IR 87952-1-1-1-2-3-B (G05) which were the best genotypes in the mega-environment consisting of 21 environments evaluated across stress locations and year combinations. Overall, the most promising genotype (IR 87952-1-1-1-2-3-B) had high mean yield and stability and could be used for commercial cultivation or used as donor for breeding programs across salt-affected soils. The genotypes GN13 (IR 87938-1-1-2-1-3-B) and GN11 (IR 87938-1-2-2-1-3-B) showed 60–80% yield advantage at specific salt stress locations, showing that these genotypes could be used for specific environments of salt-affected soils in India.
The main objective of this paper is present a novel method to choice a certain wind turbine for a specific site by using normalized power and capacity factor curves. The site matching is based on identifying the optimum turbine rotation speed parameters from turbine performance index (TPI) curve, which is obtained from the higher values of normalized power and capacity factor curves. Wind Turbine Performance Index a new ranking parameter, is defined to optimally match turbines to wind site. The relations (plots) of normalized power, capacity factor, and turbine performance index versus normalized rated wind speed are drawn for a known value of Weibull shape parameter of a site, thus a superior method is used for Weibull parameters estimation which is called Equivalent Energy Method (EEM).
The Azerbaijan-Armenia war on Nagorno-Karabakh was a serious challenge for the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic in Iran.
This study determines an innovative way of teaching, assessing, and examining students devoid of utilizing paper in the lectures, midterms, and last tests of two classes. That is to say, Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Engineering, for third and fourth-year students, respectively. Paperless learning is the name for this way, in which computers are utilized interactively to teach and assess students and take tests. The students are involved interactively in studying scientific lessons; computer software is used to capitalize on their potential to develop learning and help students do reproductions to resolve different engineering exercises. The outcomes exhibited that the students deliver a significant consideration to the lessons utilized in the two classes. Furthermore, the rating procedure is more proficient than the usual methods. The review showed that the students tend to be positive in evaluating the lessons and professors. Additionally, the significance of the other profits of the paperless method is offered.
