This article examines the deformation characteristics of a beam supported on an elastic foundation for various foundation compliance factors. Classic models, such as the Winkler and Pasternak models, are analyzed, as are nonlinear dependences of the bedding factor on deflection. Numerical methods, including the Ritz method and the parameter continuation method, were used to solve the problem, allowing us to study the influence of load and anchorage conditions on the beam deflection. The obtained results demonstrate the influence of the selected foundation model on the deflection magnitude and the need to consider nonlinear effects to accurately predict the deformations of structures interacting with the soil mass. It is also shown that the use of linear elastic foundation models yields satisfactory results only for small deformations and a homogeneous soil structure. In conditions of increased soil compliance or heterogeneity, it is necessary to use models that take into account the change in the bedding factor depending on the deflection magnitude. This allows for the correct description of stress redistribution and the formation of subsidence zones. The presented relationships and calculation models can be used in the design of foundations, slabs, and extended engineering structures where the reliability and stability of the structure-foundation system must be ensured.
This study explored the catalytic upgrading of high-viscosity oil from the Aksenovsk field in the Samara region during catalytic aquathermolysis on the composition and properties of the resulting products. Catalysts containing iron, nickel, cobalt, chromium, and copper were successfully synthesized. The results revealed significant oil transformation with copper tallate, leading to a 2.6-fold reduction in viscosity compared to the control. SARA analysis showed an 8 % mass decrease in high-molecular-weight compounds, especially resins, when using an iron-nickel (1:1) catalyst mixture. Iron tallate in the conversion products resulted in a 17 % increase in light saturates. X-ray structural analysis revealed that nickel, cobalt, and copper tallates primarily decompose into metal sulfides, while iron and chromium tallates break down into oxides and hydroxides. Based on these findings, a catalyst precursor with an 85/15 iron-nickel ratio was selected, and field tests at well 407 G in the Aksenovsk field demonstrated increased production rates and reduced water content.
This article presents the results of reprocessing 3D CDPM (the common depth point method) seismic survey materials that combine data of seismic surveys of four separate license areas in Western Siberia. Using these materials as an example, the importance of interpretative processing control (IPC) for improving the quality of seismic data prepared for subsequent interpretation is shown in detail. The essence of IPC is the permanent monitoring of changes in seismic data quality at each processing stage; communication of IPC team with processing specialists on a regular basis is required to control the quality of performed procedures aimed at increasing the resolution of a seismic image and, hence, improving the traceability of target objects, in particular, channel objects. The quality of traceability of paleochannels in previous and new surveys was compared in the frequency analysis of seismic data, which is based on RGB (red–green–blue) frequency stacking. Re-processing of 2023 survey data provided significant detailing of paleochannel objects in the target region of Tyumen deposits. A specially trained neural network was also used for searching for riverbeds; it has shown how much better or worse riverbed objects are traced when applying a particular processing procedure. The results enable one to make a decision about acceptance or non-acceptance of the results of a particular IPC procedure.
In the context of sanctions restrictions and import substitution, the modern engineering market in the Russian oil and gas industry is looking for methods and tools that can reduce the severity of the main problems in the implementation of projects, namely, exceeding the budget and deadlines for their implementation. This article examines key aspects of large oil and gas projects: cost overruns (due to the huge unforeseen capital expenditures involved) and schedule variances. The aim of this study is to analyze the reasons for budget overruns and delays in the implementation of projects in the oil and gas sector. The paper provides an overview of foreign studies from the standpoint of the success of oil and gas projects, as well as a new look at design, procurement, and construction in terms of digital transformation for the implementation of capital projects. The ways of practical use of the results of the conducted analysis are proposed, including approaches for developing our own product in Russia, including contracting based on EPC, EPC(M) and industry 4.0 solutions, which could potentially become a significant breakthrough for capital projects in Russia. Conclusions were drawn that the application of cost engineering tools helps reduce the risks of project implementation deadlines being missed and their cost being exceeded.
Today, the domestic engineering market in the Russian Federation is growing twice as fast as the global one. The field of engineering services provided in the oil and gas industry is characterized as the most dynamic with a wide range of opportunities for Russian engineering companies if they take on functions previously performed by Western EPC contractors. This article analyzes the formation of the modern market for engineering and construction services, starting from the second half of the 19th century to the present. While the first approach to such concepts as engineering and engineering services was formulated during the Soviet period with its state funding, it has been significantly transformed but over the past decades. The paper considers the specifics of Russian terminology and conceptual framework describing engineering and engineering activities. We touch upon such issue as the lack of a unified approach to the definition of engineering activities in Russian legislative practice. It is noted that the conceptual framework for engineering activities should be unified at the legislative level in the future. The dynamics of value volumes (from 2013 to 2023) as well as current and future trends in the development of the Russian market of engineering services are considered. The authors emphasize that the main drawback of Russian and foreign companies hindering the creation of a balanced domestic market for engineering services is the lack of appropriate competencies at the project management stage. It is observed that the market for engineering services directly depends on the situation in the oil and gas exploration and production market.
