This study evaluates the effectiveness of AI-supported mathematical modeling tasks by examining their alignment with task design criteria through the lens of variation theory. Seven AI-generated tasks related to climate change were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The tasks were assessed based on their realism, relevance, authenticity, openness, and the utilization of modeling subcompetencies. To enhance the quality of these tasks, three different variations were employed. While the criteria of realism and relevance remained consistent across all versions, authenticity, clarity, and engagement with modeling competencies improved significantly in the third variation, which integrated more contextual and scenario-based prompts. The findings indicate that incorporating structured variations can foster more authentic and open-ended tasks, thereby deepening learners' engagement with mathematical modeling processes. This study demonstrates that task variations structured based on Variation Theory enhance AI systems’ ability to discern critical aspects of mathematical modeling processes. This study highlights the potential of AI as a valuable support tool for educators in designing meaningful, contextually rich tasks and calls for further research on its role in culturally responsive and adaptive pedagogy.
Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) formerly known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), characterized by hyperandrogenism, affects approximately 7.1–15.1
Despite the fact that Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a well-known opportunist pathogen, it remains an understudied microorganism in the context of food safety. Due to its high adaptation capability, rapid reproduction and minimal growth necessities, P. aeruginosa is a common bacterium in the food chain. The resistance of P. aeruginosa to various antibiotics in clinical isolates has been extensively investigated and in-depth characterized. Conversely, information on food-borne isolates of this genus and species is insufficient. In this study, a total of 208 colonies were isolated from 144 food samples collected from different provinces and subjected to morphological, physiological, and chemical analyses. Based on the results, total 22 isolates obtained from milk (12) and chicken (10) samples and exhibiting characteristics specific to P. aeruginosa were identified at the molecular level using the 16 S rRNA region. The antibiotic resistance profiles of the identified isolates were evaluated against azithromycin and erythromycin (macrolides), cefoperazone and ceftazidime (cephalosporin), meropenem and imipenem (carbapenem), as well as amikacin (aminoglycoside) among others. As a result of 16 S rRNA analysis, it was determined that only the 10 isolates obtained from raw milk samples were P. aeruginosa. The prevalence of antibiotic resistance among P. aeruginosa isolates was found to be variable. All isolates were observed to be susceptible to amikacin, imipenem, and piperacillin/tazobactam, while they were resistant to erythromycin, nalidixic acid, ampicillin, kanamycin, and chloramphenicol. Only the RM16 strain was susceptible to tetracycline, RM18 to meropenem, and RM20 and RM24 showed intermediate susceptibility to gentamicin.
This study aims to evaluate and quantify wind turbine performance aloft using a field-deployable tethered aerostat test platform, combining a lightweight horizontal-axis turbine, a conical diffuser, and synchronized onboard measurements of atmospheric conditions and electrical output. The platform is designed to enable higher-altitude operation (up to ~500 m), while the results presented in this study are based on field measurements up to ~60 m. Field measurements show that the mean wind speed increased from approximately 4.6 m/s at 20 m to 6.1 m/s at 60 m, producing a corresponding rise in electrical power output from ~37 W at the lowest recorded operating point (V≈2.6 m/s) to a maximum of ~52 W at around 50 m altitude (V≈6.1 m/s), consistent with the cubic wind–power relationship. The conical diffuser was additionally assessed under comparable wind conditions (~6.1 m/s) and provided a modest gain from 50 W to 52 W (≈ 4%) for the present geometry. These results indicate that height-adjustable lighter-than-air deployment can improve energy yield in low-wind regions without tower infrastructure by leveraging the vertical wind gradient, while highlighting that diffuser benefits are measurable but limited under the tested conditions and merit further geometric optimization and repeated trials.
This study examined acculturative stress and state anxiety among Afghan refugee minors forced to migrate due to war, comparing unaccompanied minors with those who migrated with their parents. The sample comprised 136 participants aged 10–18 years: 77 accompanied and 59 unaccompanied refugee minors. Acculturative stress was measured via the Acculturative Stress Scale, and state anxiety was assessed via the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC). Data were collected through face-to-face interviews. The results indicated that unaccompanied refugee minors experienced significantly higher levels of both acculturative stress and state anxiety than their accompanied peers did. These findings underscore the substantial psychological burden associated with migrating without parental support and highlight the importance of implementing targeted, trauma-informed mental health interventions to foster resilience and emotional well-being among unaccompanied refugee minors.
