1Identifying Critical Export Performance Drivers Through SWARA Analysis: Internal Vs. External Factors
    Eyup Kahveci, Biset Toprak,Selim Zaim

This study aims to identify and prioritize the key factors influencing export performance among Turkish exporters, based on the resource-based view (RBV) and industrial organization theory (IO), categorizing the factors as internal and external, and employing the Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA). Twenty-five factors across Internal (IF) and External (EF) categories were evaluated through expert assessments. Results reveal that Internal Factors (58.0%) significantly dominate External Factors (42.0%), indicating that Turkish exporters possess substantial control over their export competitiveness. The top five critical factors are Management and Leadership (9.6%), Strategy (6.2%), Technological Change (5.3%), Industry and Sector Activity (5.0%), and Competitors (5.0%). Surprisingly, traditional factors such as firm size, international experience, and digitalization ranked much lower, challenging conventional assumptions about export success. A leave-one-out (LOO) sensitivity analysis further validated the robustness of these rankings, with Management and Leadership, and Strategy emerging as the most stable and dominant factors across all scenarios. The predominance of management and strategic factors over structural characteristics suggests that even smaller, less experienced companies can achieve export success through effective leadership and strategic planning. These findings contribute theoretically by supporting the notion that the resource-based view has a greater impact on export performance than the industrial organization theory, and they provide practical guidance for companies to focus on managerial and leadership skills, organizational capabilities, and strategic approaches to enhance export investments. The study presents the first comprehensive SWARA-based ranking of export performance factors in the Turkish context, providing empirical evidence to support the internal-external factor debate in the international business literature.

2Actor–partner Effects in Homework Involvement: How Children’s Requests Shape Parental Support
    Akif Avcu, Süleyman Avc,Mustafa Özgenel

This study examined the factors associated with parental involvement in homework using a dyadic approach from both parent and student perspectives. Participants were 390 middle school students and their parents from three schools in a metropolitan area of northwestern Türkiye. Findings indicated that parents generally perceived their involvement in homework as higher than their children reported. A key factor influencing parental involvement was the child’s explicit request for help, underscoring the role of direct communication. Parents who reported high academic expectations for their children also tended to be more engaged in homework-related activities. Additionally, students who demonstrated greater interest in and effort toward homework were more likely to perceive supportive parental involvement. These results highlight the actor–partner dynamics of parent–child communication in shaping effective homework support.

3Assessing Digital Maturity in the Textile Sector: an Integrated MEREC and OCRA Approach
Eyup Kahveci, Biset Toprak, Emine Elif Nebati, Selim Zaim

The digital transformation of the textile industry poses unique challenges due to its labor-intensive processes, complex global supply chains, and coexistence of traditional methods and emerging technologies. Despite the urgency of this transition, existing digital maturity models lack sector-specific frameworks and often fail to integrate multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methodologies for quantitative performance assessment. This study addresses these gaps by proposing a novel digital maturity model tailored specifically to the textile sector. The research employs an integrated decision-making framework using the Method Based on the Removal Effects of Criteria (MEREC) to determine objective criterion weights and the Operational Competitiveness Rating Analysis (OCRA) method to rank firm-level digital maturity performance. The findings indicate that Strategy is the most influential dimension, whereas Technology receives the lowest weight. At the sub-criterion level, Management Support, Market Analysis, and Vision and Strategic Awareness are the most critical factors, while Technology Usage Competency is less influential. The performance evaluation shows that Company A3 achieves the highest level of digital maturity, whereas Company A2 ranks lowest. The robustness of the proposed framework is comprehensively validated through a scenario-based sensitivity analysis and a comparative evaluation using the Additive Ratio Assessment System (ARAS) method. Overall, the results suggest that successful digital transformation in the textile sector depends primarily on strategic vision and managerial support rather than on technological infrastructure alone.

4Comprehensive Review of Collagen Types: Sources, Structure, and Human Health Applications
    Handan Do, Sultan Aslanhan,Mustafa Yaman

Collagen is a protein that helps maintain the structural integrity and functionality of connective tissue. Collagen hydrolysate, which has recently gained popularity due to its high bioavailability, has attracted attention due to its reported benefits, such as improving skin health, relieving joint pain, and reducing signs of ageing. This review aims to compile and categorize 28 well-researched and well-known, as well as less popular, types of collagens, and investigate their relationship with physiological processes and diseases. It also examines how collagen affects ageing and its potential impact on various health conditions. Collagen hydrolysate is a food ingredient known for its support of collagen synthesis and a wide range of health benefits, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antihypertensive effects. Types I, II, and III collagen constitute 80–90 % of the human body. Collagen Types I through VII are most commonly associated with skin health, with other collagen types also playing a variety of roles in health and disease. Dietary supplements containing collagen hydrolysate have been shown to have positive effects, including reducing signs of ageing, maintaining skin health, reducing symptoms of joint disorders, and improving overall quality of life.

5Differential Expression of Long-Noncoding RNAs under Drought Stress in Tomato (solanum Lycopersicum)
Mehtap Aydın, Elif Karlık Urhan,Fikrettin Şahin, Andrew John Harvey

BACKGROUND:Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as crucial regulators in plant responses to abiotic stresses, including salinity, drought, heavy metals, and temperature fluctuations. The functional characterization of drought-responsive lncRNAs in Solanum lycopersicum remains incomplete and poorly understood. In this study, we performed transcriptome-wide identification and functional analysis of lncRNAs in two tomato cultivars, drought-tolerant variety Falcon, and drought-susceptible SC2121, when subjected to drought stress. METHODS AND RESULTS:Physiological parameters-such as shoot height, root length, soluble protein, and water content- were measured to evaluate drought-induced changes in the tomato varieties. In addition, five lncRNAs were selected for reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) analysis. Using high-throughput RNA sequencing, we identified 269 drought-responsive lncRNAs, including 124 upregulated and 145 downregulated transcripts. Interestingly, in tomato, predicted lncRNA-mRNA interactions suggest that XR_003244833.1, XR_003247168.1, and XR_743350.3 may be associated with the sorbitol (polyol) pathway, the ABC-2 type transporter protein, and the U11/U12 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein involved in the spliceosome complex, respectively. CONCLUSIONS:Using high-throughput RNA sequencing, we identified 269 drought-responsive lncRNAs, including 124 upregulated and 145 downregulated transcripts. Accordingly, lncRNAs may be actively involved in the drought stress response and regulate key adaptive pathways through interactions with protein-coding genes. These findings provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of drought tolerance in tomato and offer potential targets for the genetic improvement of stress-resilient cultivars.
