This study examines the determinants of green purchase behavior (GPB) among young consumers in a digital context by integrating drive for environmental responsibility (DER), social media attachment (SMA), green product knowledge (GPK), and green consumption values (GCV) within the Theory of Reciprocal Determinism (TRD). In addition, it investigates the moderating role of SMA in the relationship between DER and GPB, as well as the role of attitude in the link between GCV and GPB. Survey data from 285 participants aged 18 to 30 collected using a non-probability sampling method. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) were utilized in the study. The findings reveal that DER, SMA, GPK, and GCV positively influence GPB. However, the moderating effects of SMA and attitude are not supported, indicating that these factors act as independent predictors rather than conditional influencers of GPB. These results provide theoretical insights into the stability of behavioral drivers and reinforce the importance of cognitive and environmental determinants within the TRD framework, even without significant interaction effects. The findings emphasize the significance of individual DER, digital engagement, GPK, and values among urbanized and digitally connected youth, promoting GPB in the digital era. The research offers an original contribution by integrating DER and SMA within the TRD framework in the context of Malaysian digital sustainability. It extends green consumption beyond the Western perspective and provides novel empirical evidence from an emerging economy. The study highlights the theoretical, practical, and policy implications of these findings.
The textile industry is a major contributor to global water pollution due to the release of recalcitrant dye effluents and large volumes of wastewater, with an estimated 10–15
The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus infects host cells by binding to angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). Stilbamidine (SDC), a compound identified in Malaysian Kelulut honey (KH), has been reported to exhibit favourable binding affinity towards ACE2. This study aims to determine the effects of KH and SDC on the binding of spike protein to the ACE2 receptor, as well as to assess their modulatory potential on ACE2 gene and protein expression in lung and kidney cells. KH, SDC, and MLN 4760 (ACE2 inhibitor) were tested using an in vitro spike S1:ACE2 inhibition assay. Their modulatory effects on the ACE2 gene and protein expression were further examined through real-time PCR and western blot analysis. KH inhibited the binding of Spike S1 to ACE2, surpassing MLN4760, with maximum effects (Emax) of 82.66 ± 0.24
Promotional tools of marketing, (e.g., personal selling, advertising, sales promotion, public relations, promotional games as well as contests), play a key role in creating consumer awareness about the qualities of various products and services available on the market, and can go a long way in contributing to economic progress and social development. Muslim marketers have to be conscious of their position and role in managing marketing activities. The Qur' a nic view about man and his resources should be the basis for designing promotional tools and media strategies. The latter are meant to inculcate Islamic values, build the characters of customers and marketers and uphold truth in the society. Ethical behavior in advertising and other promotional activities must be based on a strong foundation of Islamic tenets and injunctions. There is a need to develop not only general guidelines for achieving marketing goals and corporate objectives in a morally acceptable manner, but also to devise an Islamic code of marketing by Muslim marketers, corporate leaders, and sharīʿah experts.
This study aimed to assess the prevalence of five types of household level double burden malnutrition (DBM) in mother-child dyads and examine socioeconomic disparities in two predominant forms: stunted child with obese mother (SCOM) and anemic child with obese mother (ACOM). This study used the fifth wave of the Indonesia Family Life Survey dataset, comprising 2,846 mother-child dyads. The prevalence of DBM sub-groups was obtained using descriptive statistics. Multivariable logistic regression was used to examine socioeconomic disparities in SCOM and ACOM, including maternal education, maternal employment, area of residence, household wealth, food consumption score, and sanitation status. SCOM and ACOM were the most common types of DBM, with the prevalence of 12.73
