Kochi University (高知大学, Kōchi Daigaku) is a national university in Kōchi, Kōchi Prefecture, Japan. The predecessors Toya-gakusha (later Kochi Normal School) was founded in 1874, Kochi Higher School in 1922, Kochi prefecture Teacher Training Institute for Agriculture Associated School in 1923, and it was chartered as a university in 1949..
High areal capacity anodes are essential for advancing lithium-ion batteries, yet self-supporting electrodes often suffer from limited areal capacity due to low mass loading. Herein, a three-dimensional (3D) Cu2O architecture is directly grown on Cu foam via a hydrothermal process followed by thermal treatment. Vanadium doping is employed to regulate the growth behavior of Cu2O while concurrently modulating its electronic structure. Benefiting from the synergistic effects of optimized morphology and enhanced conductivity, the electrode with a high mass loading of 11 mg cm-2 delivers an areal capacity of 12.6 mAh cm-2, together with an excellent rate capacity of 3.5 mAh cm-2 at 5 mA cm-2. Density functional theory calculations further show that V substitution lowers the Li-ion diffusion barrier from 0.66 to 0.41 eV and introduces V-3d states near the Fermi level, thereby enhancing the conductivity. This work demonstrates an effective dopant regulation strategy for constructing high-performance self-supported Cu2O anodes for lithium-ion batteries.
Symptom and quality of life monitoring using electronic patient-reported outcomes has been widely adopted for common cancers. However, there are few such systems and studies for rare cancers such as sarcomas in Japan. We herein report a development and feasibility study of a novel system for monitoring electronic patient-reported outcomes. Our study group, which included clinical physicians and system engineers as a collaboration between academia and industry, developed the system and conducted weekly electronic patient-reported outcome monitoring for sarcoma patients during the administration of anti-tumor agents. This prospective study was conducted from 2021 to 2023, with each patient monitored for 12 weeks to 1 year. Twenty-three patients were included in this study. The weekly response rate and missing rate of the electronic patient-reported outcome system were 95.7
