The dynamic development of research techniques and the possibility of detecting a wide range of parasiticmarkers infections have made it important to update the usefulness of microscopic, molecular, immunodiagnosticand in vitro culture methods in daily laboratory practice. A properly performed diagnosis of infectious diseases, including parasitic diseases, is an important part of medical practice, influencing the decision to implementtherapy. Tests used in the laboratory, in addition to being certified for validation and standardization, should allowrapid and reliable diagnosis of infection markers. The present study provides recommendations on the principles of collection, transport and storage of biologicalmaterial for parasitological diagnosis and the selection of diagnostic methods (in terms of their quality andavailability in diagnostic laboratories), as well as the information on the correct processing of the test result andquality control in a medical parasitological laboratory.Update of recommendations for laboratory medical parasitology, was developed on the basis of the followingauthors’ publications: Myjak P, Głowniak C, Gołąb E, Jaborowska-Jarmoluk M, Kosik-Bogacka D, Matowicka-Karna J, Nowak P, Pietkiewicz H, Szostakowska B, Wnukowska N, Żarnowska-Prymek H. Standards in the rangeof laboratory activities in medical parasitology, estimation of their quality and diagnostics value, as well asinterpretation and authorization of the tests results (proposals). This article presents the results of a survey on the perception of terrorist and sabotage threats by experts participating in the European Commission’s (DG Home) initiative EU Protective Security Advisors (EU PSA). The survey was conducted in February 2025 on a sample of 50 individuals representing EU PSA, EU institutions, and strategic project partners. The questionnaire covered several key aspects of terrorist and sabotage threats, including the types of potential targets, attack methods, and expected developments in hybrid threats. Respondents were also asked to assess which critical infrastructure systems require the highest priority in resilience-building efforts, as well as which counter-terrorism measures should be prioritised at the EU level. Additionally, the survey explored factors that could improve the security of protected facilities and identified the most likely perpetrators of attacks on EU critical infrastructure. The survey results provide valuable insights for shaping counter-terrorism and counter-sabotage policies at the EU level. The authors emphasise the necessity of standardising physical security measures and developing educational initiatives to build a security culture.
The aim of this article is to discuss the legal changes introduced in Poland in response to the growing threat to critical infrastructure facilities from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and to present a recommended method for assessing the effectiveness of UAV detection and neutralisation systems developed by the Government Centre for Security (RCB). The authors discuss the amendment of the Act of 3 July 2002 – Aviation Law, which includes provisions relevant to the safety of unmanned platform flights, ensuring that operators of critical infrastructure have the right to defend the protected facility against attacks using unmanned aircraft, and the amendment of the Act of 24 May 2013 on direct coercive measures and firearms, which expanded the catalogue of direct coercive measures to include the destruction or immobilisation of UAV or the seizure of control over its flight, and indicated the means of its neutralisation.
