The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA; Romanian: Agenția Spațială Română) is a public institution with extrabudgetary funding which coordinates the national space technology research programs and the space research related activities since 1991. ROSA is subordinated to the Ministry of Education. As a representative of the Romanian Government, the Romanian Space Agency establishes cooperative agreements with international organizations such as the European Space Agency and the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) and also bilateral agreements. Along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROSA represents Romania at the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Use of Outer Space - COPUOS and at its subcommittees. The Romanian Space Agency also conducts research projects through the ROSA Research Center..
Bakery products constitute an essential element of the daily diet, with significant nutritional and social importance. This study analyzes current industry trends, consumer behaviors, and distinctions between traditional and modern health-focused products, integrating both international findings and data relevant to Romania. The research draws on the specialized literature to examine changes in consumption patterns and manufacturers’ adaptation strategies. The results highlight three main directions: the increase in the popularity of artisanal and specialty products, the development of the healthy products segment (gluten-free, vegan, with added seeds or whole grains), and the increasing emphasis on sustainability and ethical practices. Although white bread remains the main choice, interest in healthier options, such as wholemeal or fortified bread, is growing both in the global and Romanian contexts, although it is still largely niche. Generational differences indicate that adults prefer traditional and healthy products, while young people and students choose quick and convenient snacks, strongly influenced by social networks. The conclusion highlights the bakery industry’s transition between tradition and modernity, where future success depends on integrating health, sustainability, and personalization into production and marketing processes.
This paper presents the results of the SKEYE contract 03 PSCD/2022, financed through the Sectorial Research and Development Plan of the Romanian Ministry of National Defence. The project involves the development of a Space Situational Awareness (SSA) Space Operations Centre (SPOC) together with related sensors: Robotic Astronomical observatory; quad band spectrum monitoring antenna system (X, Ku, Ka and Q bands) and GNSS spectrum monitoring network. Sensors are remotely controlled from SPOC via dedicated software platform. Moreover, at SPOC level, operational scenarios can be simulated using a dedicated software platform – AGI STK. This paper explores the system’s implementation, benefits and security implications.
At the European Community level, several issues have been identified regarding the accessibility, quality, availability, organization, and sharing of spatial data necessary for achieving the goals outlined in public policies and environmental management. To address these challenges, the establishment of an infrastructure for spatial information, known as INSPIRE, was mandated through Directive 2007/2/EC. This paper outlines the solution developed by the INFRAINIS project for distributing geospatial information, which aligns with the objectives of the INSPIRE Directive. The proposed solution will provide the technical means for entities holding geospatial datasets, coordinated by the National Research Authority of Romania, to publish these datasets in accordance with the INSPIRE Directive. The IT infrastructure developed will utilize a foundation of free and open-source software solutions that have been proven to be highly effective in other projects, while also offering lower implementation and administrative costs compared to proprietary solutions. Institutions holding relevant datasets will upload them to the platform via a web application that enables automatic publication as web GIS services. The INSPIRE themes that will be addressed include land cover, geology, soil, oceanographic features, geographical features, and maritime regions. This IT infrastructure is expected to reach Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6, facilitating informed decision-making on policies and activities with direct or indirect environmental impacts. The proposed platform will also enhance access to harmonized spatial data for public authorities, researchers, academics, the private sector, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the general public.
