1Litsea Cubeba Essential Oil-Loaded Tamarind Seed Polysaccharide/flaxseed Gum Edible Coatings: Properties and Ambient Preservation of Postharvest Grapes
    Wenliang Qi, Qingqing Jiang, Erihemu

Food packaging plays a crucial role in extending food shelf life and ensuring food quality and safety. However, conventional packaging materials often contribute to environmental pollution, making the development of eco-friendly, edible functional coatings an effective strategy for addressing both food preservation and sustainability concerns. In this study, a novel edible composite coating was developed using tamarind seed polysaccharide (TSP) and flaxseed gum (FG) as the film-forming matrix, with Litsea cubeba essential oil (LCEO) incorporated as an active component. Single-factor optimization identified the optimal formulation as 0.5% TSP, 0.5% FG, and 0.6% LCEO. Structural characterization revealed that TSP and FG formed a stable three-dimensional network, while LCEO was uniformly dispersed within the matrix, significantly enhancing the mechanical and barrier properties of the composite film. The optimized film exhibited excellent antioxidant activity, with DPPH and ABTS radical-scavenging rates of 79.70% and 89.77%, respectively. Furthermore, it demonstrated remarkable antibacterial and antifungal activities against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Botrytis cinerea. Application tests on postharvest grapes showed that the composite coating effectively reduced weight loss, delayed fruit softening, and retarded nutrient degradation, thereby extending the shelf life of grapes under ambient storage conditions. In addition, the coating was nontoxic, edible, and fully biodegradable, fulfilling the requirements for sustainable food packaging and exhibiting considerable potential for industrial applications. These findings demonstrate that the TSP/FG/LCEO composite coating is a promising sustainable packaging material with multifunctional antioxidant and antimicrobial properties for maintaining postharvest quality and extending the shelf life of fresh produce.

2Research Progress of Spin Seebeck Effect
Hongru Wang, Yiqian Wu, Saisai Feng, Min Wang, Keqin Li, Pengnan Zhao, Lihuan Yang, Kaiwei Guo, Zhonghai Yu,Jiamin Lai, Jianning Han, Fei Wang,

Spin Seebeck effect is a key thermo-spin coupling phenomenon in spintronics, which can generate spin currents in magnetic materials under a thermal gradient, providing a new approach for developing low-power,nonvolatile spintronic devices. This paper systematically reviews the latest research progress of the spin Seebeck effect, introduces the excitation mechanism and typical detection methods of spin currents from its basic physical connotations, and summarizes the main experimental configurations, such as transverse, longitudinal and nonlocal.Furthermore, this paper compares the characteristic manifestations of this effect in various material systems, including ferromagnets, ferrimagnets, antiferromagnets, and paramagnets. And the microscopic mechanisms, including magneton driving, phonon dragging, and chemical potential driving, are discussed. Moreover, this paper explores the application potential of the spin Seebeck effect in various fields, such as magnetic valves and magnetic logic devices, and in the probing of microscopic magnetic structures. At the same time,it is also noted that signal separation, interface regulation, and a unified mechanism description remain key challenges hindering further development in this field. With the continuous improvement of theoretical models, the emergence of new material systems, and the development of high-precision detection technologies, the spin Seebeck effect is expected to play an increasingly important role in spin thermionics and next-generation information devices.

3A Metasociological Outline of the Legitimacy of Sociology
    Jingxi Zhang

There has long been a crisis of trust in sociology, one that is inextricably linked to the discipline’s contradictory self-understandings. This paper aims to construct a metasociological model of the legitimacy of sociology in order to clarify these debates. The core of this model lies in recognizing sociology as a social structure embedded within a larger society, and understanding that claims regarding the legitimacy of sociology primarily occur at the structural relations both internal and external to sociology. Through an analysis of Chinese, Iranian and American sociology, we summarize seven types of legitimacy of sociology.

4N-heterocyclic Carbene(cu) Synergistic Photothermal Hydrogen Release Involving Double Hydrogen Transfer Catalyzed by Porphyrin(cu)-Based Conjugated Microporous Polymers for Efficient Quinoline Hydrogenation
Lingjuan Zhang, Jiayi Zheng, Nan Zhang, Jincong Yuan,Xian-Ming Zhang

Photothermal-driven double hydrogen transfer (DHT) strategies are highly desirable for boosting the hydrogen utilization efficiency of ammonia borane complexes and enabling green hydrogen evolution. In this work, three porphyrin-based CMPs, namely Im-PCMP, NHC(Cu)-PCMP and NHC(Cu)-PCMP(Cu), were synthesized via the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction (N-heterocyclic carbene, NHC). NHC(Cu)-PCMP(Cu) showed outstanding catalytic activity in the photothermal reductive hydrogenation of quinoline and its derivatives with high yields and selectivity. The isotopic labeling and control experiments revealed: (1) outstanding photothermal conversion efficiencies (eta = 79%) of NHC(Cu)-PCMP(Cu), attributed to the synergistic effects of metal-carbene and porphyrin metallization via bimetallic regulation strategies; (2) enhanced activation of the N-H & ctdot;H-B bond through NHC(Cu)-mediated cooperative catalysis; and (3) effective DHT reductive hydrogenation of quinoline and its derivatives with t-BuNH2BH3 as the hydrogen donor through a heterogeneous photothermal process.

5Effects and Mechanisms of the Digital Economy on Tourism Carbon Productivity: Empirical Evidence from Prefecture-Level Cities in China
Zheng Wang, Jinhong Cheng, Ziyan Wang, Zhanhong Cheng

Rising carbon emissions from tourism's rapid growth have placed its environmental sustainability under mounting scrutiny, underscoring the urgency of improving tourism carbon productivity (TCP). Meanwhile, the digital economy (DE) has increasingly emerged as a transformative driver of sustainable tourism. This study constructs a model to measure TCP and, using Chinese city-level data with econometric methods, analyzes the impact of DE on TCP. Results show that DE significantly enhances TCP, with stronger effects in eastern regions and excellent tourism cities. Mechanism analysis indicates that DE improves TCP mainly by stimulating green technological innovation and alleviating resource misallocation. Spatial econometric analysis further identifies positive spillover effects of DE on neighboring cities' TCP. These findings reveal the impact and spatial spillover pathways of DE on TCP, extend the theoretical framework of how DE affects tourism's low-carbon development, and provide valuable reference for collaborative low-carbon governance in the tourism industry in the digitalization context.
