Open Access macht Dissertationen maximal sichtbar. Mit einer Open Access Publikation erreicht man nicht nur mehr Lesende, sondern auch die Wirkung der Forschung wird erhöht. In der Veranstaltung wurde gezeigt, wie sich die Publikationslandschaft von Dissertationen an der Universität Luzern entwickelt hat und welche Rolle das Repositorium LORY dabei spielt. Zwei Erfahrungsberichte geben Einblicke in den Publikationsprozess und es wird gezeigt, welche Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten bestehen. Präsentation der Veranstaltung: Dissertationen und Open Access. The Wikiverse with all its portals and the principles of openness and networking forms an essential pillar of our current supply of knowledge. For this stream of knowledge to be continue and for new networks, results, and insights to emerge from these resources, contributors and maintainers are needed for these databases. With the "Wikimedians in Residence", there is a main concept to create bridges between institutional information supply and free, community-based work. Indexing and data provision outside the usual institutional and strict work environments once again means increasing resistance and commitment - and fighting for free, permanent, and easy access to knowledge and high-quality indexing.
In the humanities, there are traditionally some subfields, like local and regional studies, where the engagement of citiziens is responsible for a large part of the knowledge production. Currently, this work mostly follows traditional patterns of knowledge communication: publication in closed-access journals or by publishing printed monographs in very small editions. Works published in this way is therefore rarely perceived outside of the research community. Open and digital knowledge communication accompanying traditional channels not only increases the visibility of citizen science works but also facilitates their further use, reproduction and citability. A mix of open and digital methods is demonstrated by the example of the project "Kamptaler Sakrallandschaften": Complementary to the printed publication, all documented small monuments are recorded in a structured way in Wikidata, and the image material is stored under a free license.
Zusammenfassung Das Wikiversum mit all seinen Portalen und den Prinzipien der Offenheit und Vernetztheit bildet eine wesentliche Säule unserer gegenwärtigen Wissensversorgung. Damit dieser Strom an Wissen aufrecht bleibt und neue Vernetzungen, Ergebnisse und Erkenntnisse aus diesen Ressourcen entstehen können, braucht es Beitragende und Pflegende für diese Datenbestände. Mit den Wikimedians in Residence existiert ein Konzept, das Brücken zwischen institutioneller Informationsversorgung und freier gemeinschaftsbasierter Arbeit herzustellen vermag. Erschließung und Datenbereitstellung außerhalb gewohnt institutioneller und strenger Arbeitsumgebungen heißt einmal mehr, Widerstand und Einsatz zu erhöhen – und für freien, dauerhaften und einfachen Zugang zu Wissen und qualitätsvolle Erschließung zu kämpfen.
