The Saxon State and University Library Dresden (full name in German: Sächsische Landesbibliothek – Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Dresden), abbreviated SLUB Dresden, is located in Dresden, Germany. It is both the regional library (German: Landesbibliothek) for the German State of Saxony as well as the academic library for the Dresden University of Technology (German: Technische Universität Dresden). It was created in 1996 through the merger of the Saxon State Library (SLB) and the University Library Dresden (UB). The seemingly redundant name is to show that the library brings both these institutional traditions together. The SLUB moved into a large new building in 2002 to bring together the inventories of both its predecessors. Its collection numbers nearly nine million, making it one of the largest public archival centers in the Federal Republic of Germany. It holds significant treasures, including the Codex Dresdensis, an octagonal Koran from 1184 and a copy of the Peter Schoeffer Bible printed in 1462. Within the SLUB is the Deutsche Fotothek, holding some 4 million photographs from the past 80 years, and the German Stenographic Institute.

1Implementing a Distributed Infrastructural Workflow for 3D Models in Germany: Achievements in the Second Funding Phase of the DFG 3D Viewer Project
Sander Münster,Piotr Kuroczyński, Marc Mosch, Igor Piotr Bajena, Clemens Beck, Markus Weigelt,Daniel Dworak

The DFG 3D viewer is a web-based, modular application infrastructure for the visualization, aggregation, presentation, and contextual exploration of 3D models in cultural heritage. It is designed as a generic frontend solution that integrates a stack with multiple independent 3D viewers and enables the processing and display of 3D data and associated metadata on the fly. The viewer is currently being developed as a prototype central interface for 3D collections at state and university libraries. As of 2025, the DFG 3D viewer will access a model pool of nearly 130,000 3D mesh and point cloud models of cultural and architectural heritage retrieved from different model repositories, which can be rendered using 13 selectable viewer integrations. This data is automatically supplemented with location information, descriptions, and classifications, stored in Zenodo and aggregated in the European Cultural Heritage Data Space. The viewer is currently being used in various EU projects and to display models created in Europeana.

3Open-Access-Publizieren in Der Materialwissenschaft Und Werkstofftechnik: Best Practices, Tipps Und Services
Eppelin, Anita, Schicketanz, Katharina, Becklas, Carolin, Wiehl, Henriette, Schmidt, Christiane

J. Garcés, A. Lasch, J. Römer & M. Wolf. (2025). Index der Nachrichten aus der Brüdergemeine. Teil 1: Gemein-Nachrichten (ab 1765). Teil 2: Nachrichten aus der Brüder-Gemeine (1819-1894). Teil 3: Periodical Accounts (1790-1965). Teil 4: Beyträge zur Erbauung aus der Brüder-Gemeine (1817 und 1818). Teil 5: Mitteilungen aus der Brüdergemeine (1895-1941). Teil 6: Statistik. [Data set]. Zenodo. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17105892.

5Multilingual Working and Reading Version of the "genadendal Diaries" from Genadendal Museum. Part I: 1792-1800
Balie, Judith, Garcés Pérez, Juan Luis, Goussard, Marcel, Hendricks, Andrea, Lasch, Alexander, de Wet, Casey

The Genadendal Diaries describe the development of the town of Baviaanskloof/Genadendal (South Africa) from 1792 onwards. They are available in a wide variety of versions and translations. The version presented here is the three-volume edition from the Genadendal Museum. Various parts of this version from the Genadendal Museum have already been published (e.g., the first two volumes by Bredekamp and Pliiddemann in direct translation into English), which will be supplemented and expanded by this multilingual working and reading version. After automatic transcription, normalization, and translation (into English and Afrikaans), the diaries will be made available and further processed to ultimately provide a complete corpus for further research. The transcription always serves as the reference; normalization and translation are only to be understood as guidance in this working version. The Genadendal Museum team is responsible for the primary digitization and data curation of the first three volumes (and thus the first part of the diaries from 1792-1800). The automatic transcription, normalization, and translation took place in Dresden. The project was funded from 2021 to 2025 as part of virTUos (virtual Teaching and Learning at TU Dresden in an Open Source Context) by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education Teaching and will be continued as part of the activities of the Moravian Knowledge Network.
