
This research was an investigative enquiry into the forms, extent, effects and contributing factors of cyberbullying in Higher and Tertiary Education institutions in Zimbabwe. The study used one such institution as case study. A survey was conducted on a sample of 380 undergraduate students (n=380) out of a total of 3800 student population (N=3800) in the institution. Interviews were also conducted on 12 volunteers in order to obtain additional information from the participants, especially on contributing factors. The Findings indicate that cyberbullying is very common in these institutions coming in the form of phone calls, emails, text messages, video clips and online chats. The extent of Cyberbullying is very high, with 75% of respondents admitting to have received a threatening message in campus, while 83% confirmed to have seen offensive messages while socializing with friends online. Key effects were identified as affecting students in their relationships on and off campus and mental health problems. Main contributing factors to cyberbullying were identified as gender issues, cultural/ ethnic differences, general dislike, and some taking it as an online game (fun).

This research was conducted to ensure that operations at Network Access Provider have been running and supports the goals optimally. The focus of this research is to help companies create optimal value from IT with a balance between realizing benefits and optimizing usage levels and resources. Researchers conduct library studies, observations, interviews, and conduct research analysis methods to get the actual value of the capability level of information systems and factors that influence information systems. Researchers use the COBIT 5 framework in the Evaluate, Direct, and Monitor (EDM) domains to conduct research on governance that works together around the world. COBIT 5 is an approved work or framework that is often used by auditors, especially in the information technology auditors section. COBIT 5 can be used as a tool to create information technology governance in a company. The results of this research contain information about IS deficiencies and the renewal of solutions for future improvements to the company.
With contemporary technology, companies comprehend the need for a technological tool to direct their businesses relationships with customers. CRM system one of the modern inventions of technology that assist businesses to manage their information and to offer companies the whole view of each customer. This study used quantitative statistical methods to investigate the potential effect of the predictor CRM system on the criterion variable of customer satisfaction. The research provided a new survey instrument to assess the value-added of CRM systems in small- to medium-size companies in the United State (US) in terms of customer satisfaction. The findings of this study concluded that the utilize of CRM systems in business could improve customer satisfaction because customers become willing to purchase repeatedly, try the companies' other products or services, and eager to bring a new customer to the company.
Cryptocurrencies are a sort of digital money created and managed through the use of advanced encryption techniques known as cryptography. This research sought to establish why there is a low presence of women in ICT jobs; yet they con-stitute the larger percentage of the population. The researchers did a literature review, used a sur-vey questionnaire to collect statistical data, and carried out in-depth interviews with key inform-ants who were women in ICT-related jobs in the banking and telecommunications sector in Zim-babwe. According to the study, lack of digital exposure and career guidance posed the greatest challenge for women pursuing ICT-related careers, with 95.74% of the respondents citing this challenge. Interestingly, organizational constraints had the lowest response, possibly indicating that the organizational environment is no longer a discriminating factor towards the progression of women in their careers. The study recommended among others, proper career guidance of the opportunities that ICT has for women and this can be done by the parents, mentors, and institu-tions of higher learning. Career development programs and training can also go a long way in boosting the confidence of women and encouraging them to pursue ICT-related careers.
Stochastic modelling takes into consideration the use of random variables in the prediction process. The random variables are generated from different scenarios in order to generate a possible output. As a result, the generated output is used to indicate the likelihood of very rare occurrence scenarios which may or may not take place at a future date. With the vast availability of educational data that is available within the learning sector, this data forms the basis of input data that is required for the prediction of student performance within internet-worked environments. This paper proposes a Stochastic Differential Equation (SDE) approach to prediction modelling. This approach analyses data from students within universities leading to the generation of a student performance trajectory.
In the last decade, businesses have been under pressure to find innovative ways to meet customers’ expectations in an increasingly competitive and globalized marketplace. In response, enterprises focused on innovating their products to retain old customers while attempting to attract new ones. In this vein, businesses have promoted customer relationship management (CRM) systems as a critical contributor to product innovation. This article used quantitative correlational design to examine the relationship between the use of CRM system in small to medium size companies in the United State (US) and product innovation. The study investigated whether the use of CRM system helps businesses innovate products in US and increase their profitability. The data was collected from selected sample of ten small to medium size companies in the US by answering SurveyMonkey’s questions. IBM Statistical Package for Social and Sciences (SPSS) system, version 23 was used for tabulating, which considered essential to achieve a reliable and valid result. The correlation coefficient (r) of .371 measures the strength and direction of a linear relationship between the CRM system and product innovation, which has a value of 0.47. The two null hypotheses were rejected stating that there is a negative correlation between the predictor and criterion variables.

To be able to become a music school institution that is superior to other music schools, assistance is needed from implementing SI / IT in its business processes. Both in the main activity and supporting activities. Enterprise Architecture Planning is very helpful in making planning for implementing IS / IT better, so that the application of IS / IT in the company's business processes can run according to the company's vision and mission. Zachman Framework is one method that can be used to help do Enterprise Architecture Planning. Zachman Framework will map the entire system in the company based on 6 different points of view along with 5W + 1H. Therefore, this research is expected to provide input to companies to implement IS / IT in accordance with business processes. The results of this study are in the form of proposals for the formation of applications that will be applied in the company's business processes, both the main activities and supporting activities.
Today’s enterprises have to face the problem with rapid data growth. Digitization, automation and robotics are a powerful source of data, but the real challenge is how to make a use of that phenomenon. The need for data analysis occurs in every company, regardless of its size. This paper presents an example of management support in SMEs, due to usage of universal Business Intelligence tools, in order to visualize production state, condition or workload of processes and resources. The issues discussed in this article are a reflection on a possible decision-making process based on relevant and visualized data using dedicated dashboards.
Background: For years, we have been witnessing malnutrition taking the life of almost half of all children under-five years in the world. Additionally, malnutrition has many effects on individuals including mortality and disability, which are temporary ones, and low intellectual ability and low productive performance, which are permanent. National and international organizations have been struggling to combat malnutrition and its effects. Identification of malnourished children and the provision of proper treatment thereafter are important to steps be taken. Various nutrition screening and assessment tools have been developed and are used to facilitate the process of identifying malnourished children. Most tools are developed for specific purposes such as identifying nutritional status or to identify the need for nutrition intervention, and for a specific setting such as community, hospital or home care. Due to the diverse nature of nutrition screening, there has been an unnecessary struggle to develop nutrition screening tools for individual communities. In this paper, we propose and design a generic but reliable and effective nutrition screening system for performing nutrition screening and establish extent. Method: Unified Modelling Language were used for system analysis and design. PhP and MySQL were used for system development. Results: In this paper, the design of the nutrition screening system is described. The system will facilitate nutrition screening and assessment. Nutrition screening and assessment are very essential processes for effective malnutrition management. The design combines nutrition screening and assessment because it is of advantage to have a nutrition screening process combined with nutrition assessment process as it enables identification of not only malnutrition or potential malnutrition risk but also evaluation of nutritional status. Conclusion: When used this system will quicken and perfect nutrition screening process, improve the productivity of nurses, and enhance utilization of anthropometric and other clinical data.
Literature studies indicate a high rate of failure in information systems projects, particularly those that have great impact on the organisational systems and structures. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to establish the methods and skills that can be applied to successfully manage information systems initiated organisational change in the banking sector in Zimbabwe. The study employed a qualitative research design where IT professionals and representatives of business divisions from Steward Bank, First Banking Corporation and Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe participated in the study. The in depth interviews were conducted to find answers to the research questions. The research finds the greatest challenge to the success of information systems projects in the area of change management. There is lack of change management skills and knowledge amongst information systems professionals on how to manage the process of introducing information systems in organisations. Most challenges to the success of information systems projects were found to be related to human or behavioural factors and the organisational cultures. The research established that managing the change in people is very much more important and difficult than managing the technical aspects of information systems projects. Therefore, information technology professionals should be acquainted with the soft skills and methods needed for managing change projects which are embodied in change management. The research presented change management techniques and critical success factors that can be applied to increase the success of information systems projects in the banking sector in Zimbabwe.
A specific technological architecture of infrastructure and specific software elements is designed and evaluated for project of Pricelist of Usual Manday Prices of IT services. The principles for the architecture are based on requirements of vendor lock-in prevention, maximum ease of deployment, and maximal use of free opensource solutions. The resulted architecture is designed as Debian Linux host environment running Docker containers with isolated applications with own scripts in node.js, a community software as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Ethercalc, Nginx etc. The architecture was designed and evaluated iteratively during five runs of the project and is prepared for next phases.
Most companies have realized the importance of installing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system into their business process to sustain competitive advantage and to be a market leader. This research investigated the challenges in implementing ERP system to medium size businesses in Saudi Arabia (SA) and its impacts on productivity and profitability, effects of ERP systems to business process engineering, and presents possible means to eliminate the challenges affecting implementation of ERP system. The researcher used quantitative method to investigate the implementing of ERP system on medium scale business. Data collected from 75 respondents of the selected companies. Through the use of survey questionnaire, top executives and employees of medium scale business were asked regarding the significance of these challenges in implementing ERP to their business process. Statistical Package for Social and Sciences (SPSS) program applied to tabulate the result of the survey. The results showed that organizations benefit from ERP system after considering internal issues, resolving challenges within the organization and at the same time keeping up with current to future trends.
The purpose of this research was to assess the use of mobile phones as sources of agricultural information by smallholder tobacco farmers in Zimbabwe. The study’s findings inform the policy makers by providing deeper insights which may be useful to both national and international initiatives aimed at mobile phones for development (M4D). The study provides greater nuances to the people into the understanding of the implications of mobile communication technologies to assist in the achievement of development initiatives. A survey approach was used in conducting this research, in which questionnaires, interviews and focus groups were the data collection tools. A sample of 175 smallholder tobacco farmers from Hurungwe District in Mashonaland West province (Zimbabwe) was selected for data collection, along with 4 agricultural experts for conducting focus group discussions. The research bases on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model; consequently, a positivist research philosophy was adopted for this research. A mixed method (triangulation) was used. The results show that 85.51 % of smallholder tobacco farmers use their mobile phones to access agricultural information. Some of the major highlights are that there is no relationship between farmers’ use of mobile phones in agriculture and their socio-economic characteristics. The findings also confirm that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions have positive influences on the Behavioural Intention (BI) of Zimbabwean farmers to use mobile phones as sources of agricultural information.
The growing volume of data, new methods of analysing it, and usability discussions require the right integration into decision making processes to be set up. The purpose of this short communication paper is to highlight the role of data and intuition in decision making processes and highlight its current trends. The main questions are as follows: Is data becoming the brain of companies? Are we approaching a state where data takes leadership, so that human intuition will no longer be needed? The conclusions reached by this paper are stressing the necessity to study data-driven and data-informed decisions, their impacts within particular subject areas (based on decision making processes) and focused on education systems to integrate data and business analytics.
The article presents qualitative research conducted on a sample of Czech organisations operating in the B2C relationships within the Internet environment. The research aims to determine the approach of the organisations to the collecting and analysing Voice of Customer in measuring share-of-mind metrics as constituent elements of Customer Experience. Research improves the current knowledge and setting of Voice of Customer in Customer Experience and its measurement and management in a real business setting. From the interviews is observed the low maturity in Customer Experience in Czech companies and often a misunderstanding of the concept. The companies are not fully entrenched in analysing Voice of Customer with text analytics. The barriers of getting the full potential of analysing Voice of Customer within Customer Experience are identified. The article is a part of the initial research to ‘Voice of Customer integration in Customer Experience measurement’ in the author’s dissertation and will also be published as a chapter in the author’s dissertation.
Many post-war generations are getting older. However, fertility is not increasing. It is, therefore, necessary to think about how to deal with future population developments – mainly the reason for health care. One solution could be to improve information technologies (IT) that could help in the future. These would allow the government to save some money on healthcare. Of course, different EU countries have different strategies. Some countries, especially Northern European ones, have already been preparing for the future. On the other hand, in Central Europe politicians are not interested in these reforms. Thus, the aim of this paper is to offer EU countries recommendations on how to improve healthcare quality using IT, specifically mobile and wireless health.
Point of Sales is a system used to make sales transactions. MPC Computers is a retail that sells computer accessories. But in its operation MPC Computer still applies a manual system, so that the services provided are not optimal. Reporting that requires a long time makes it difficult for store owners to determine inventory for the future because the information is not detailed, this results in reduced performance. In dealing with this, a Point of Sales application is made with the SCRUM agile method. This method was chosen because it is fast and light in application development and has a vision of high value products in creativity and productivity. There are three roles in the development of SCRUM, namely the Product Owner, SCRUM Master and Development Team. The Product Owner will define the business requirements needed, then from those needs transformed into a product backlog facilitated by the SCRUM Master, the Product Backlog will be transformed back into a sprint backlog that will be developed by the Development Team. During the execution the requirements can change and be flexible with the consequences of development being disturbed. The output of SCRUM is an application that will provide various modules such as purchasing, sales, inventory and reporting. The goal is to control the number of store inventory assets. So that stores can improve service, get detailed information, save time, and reduce costs.
