Their capacity to expeditiously and effectively cover large tracts of land has resulted in their widespread adoption as a valuable forest management and monitoring tool. The versatility of UAVs extends to their capability to perform quick and efficient surveys of large areas, inventory of tree species, and monitoring of forest health. : This work focuses on the valorization of local materials. The rock that is granite, a material used in construction thanks to its mechanical resistance, is the subject of our study. The granite of the commune of Savè, made it possible to appreciate the thermal behavior of this rock studied with a view to its use as a building material. To this end, a thermal diffusivity measurement test was carried out on this material. Thus, we made samples which were then connected to a data acquisition box via thermocouples. A Python script is used to ensure the collection of temperature values over time. From this thermal diffusivity test carried out on the granite taken from the Savè breasts, we obtained an average diffusivity 𝛼 = 5.84×10 -6 m 2 /s. As a result, the thermal effusivity and the heat capacity of the material were determined having respectively the value 1,351.09 J/(K·m 2 ·s 1/2 ) and 547,945.21 J/(m 3 ·K). These different results highlight a thermal characterization of Savè granites as a relevant material in the design and construction of an energy-efficient eco-housing.
: Cowpea is a vegetable that contributes to food security in Guinea. Despite its importance, more than 30% of its production is lost between harvesting, storage and consumption. The main cowpea pest is Callosobruchus maculatus . The commonly used control strategy is essentially based on chemicals whose use is toxic, expensive and restrictive. In the search for alternatives to chemical control, this work was undertaken to evaluate the insecticidal potential of Ageratum conyzoid leaf powders and Securidaca longepedunculata roots. Powder toxicity and insecticidal efficacy tests were performed separately on groups of 20 Callosobruchus maculatus using 3 doses of Ageratum conyzoid leaf powders and Securidaca longepedunculata roots in jars each containing 100 g cowpea. The mortality of Callosobruchus maculatus and the impact of powders were noted respectively for 96 h and 4 months after infestation. The germination capacity of the treated seeds was assessed at the start of the study. Doses of 1 and 8 g of Ageratum conyzoides leaf powders and Securidaca longepedunculata roots were applied respectively to every 100 g of cowpea and led to 100% mortality of Callosobruchus maculatus . At these same doses, more than half of the treated seeds were attacked during the 4 months of storage. Germination tests have shown that powders of Ageratum conyzoides leaves and roots of Securidaca longepedunculata have no negative effect on the germination power of cowpea seeds. Therefore, they could be considered as excellent bio-insecticides that socio-professional strata (farmers and warehouse workers) can use in the fight against cowpea insects intended for storage.
: Modern society is called the stress society, there has been a growing interest in comfortable living space. Therefore, a lot of studies using biological information have been done to quantitatively assess the effects on the human body in recent years. This study verified quantitatively difference between healing effect and stress reduction effect of sea space and general street space using an inexpensive EEG (Electroencephalogram) machine. The purpose of this study is to verify quantitatively healing effect and stress reduction effect of sea space using the EEG measurement from the psychological analysis by questionnaire survey and the SD (Semantic Differential) method. As a result, EEG and questionnaire results, psychological analysis results can be seen to match, and the effectiveness of the EEG measurement was confirmed.
One of the impacts resulting from mining process is the occurrence of AMD (Acid Mine Drainage), which is rainwater or groundwater mixed with rock. AMD contains specific sulfides in coal, leading to highly acidic water with elevated concentrations of iron and manganese. Furthermore, phytoremediation offers a method to enhance specific contaminant levels in various environmental mediums, including soil, sediment, dirt or sludge, groundwater, and surface water. This waste treatment approach employs readily applicable, efficient, and effective plant species, such as burhead or Amazon sword, Melati air (Echinodorus palaefolius), Water hyacinth or eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes), and globe fimbry or Mendong (Fimbritylis globulosa) which are aquatic plants in South Sumatra with the capacity to absorb heavy metals. Therefore, this study aims to measure the growth response of each aquatic plant (Echinodorus palaefolius, Eichhornia crassipes, and Fimbritylis globulosa) in each treatment. It also analyzes the amount of heavy metal uptake in the form of Fe and Mn by each aquatic plant (Eichhornia crassipes, Echinodorus palaefolius, and Fimbritylis globulosa) used. Additionally, it investigates the ability of these plants to facilitate the phytoremediation of AMD using compost derived from OPEFB (Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches) to reduce the presence of Fe and Mn elements. The study employs a bioreactor and encompasses two treatment factors, namely the type of aquatic plants (Echinodorus palaefolius, Eichhornia crassipes, and Fimbritylis globulosa) and the composition comparison between OPEFB compost and limestone. The result shows that the combination of treatments in terms of plant types and media composition yields the highest growth, with a weight of 286.25 g in T2K1 treatment. This involves Eceng gondok and a media composition of compost to limestone in a ratio of 50% to 50%. Moreover, Mendong exhibits the highest absorption of Fe metal, with a value of 0.82 g, followed by Eceng gondok with 0.55 g, while Melati displays the lowest at 0.38 g. Regarding the absorption of Mn, Eceng gondok demonstrates the highest uptake, measuring 0.36 g, followed by Melati and Mendong at 0.11 g and 0.06 g, respectively.
