
Background: Diabetes is a chronic disease caused by insufficient insulin production or ineffective insulin use.The global diabetes population is rapidly increasing, with over 70% living in developing countries.Anxiety and depression often coexist with diabetes, impacting treatment adherence and quality of life.People with diabetes are twice as likely to experience these mental health issues.Understanding and managing the emotional burden of diabetes is crucial for improving overall well-being and treatment outcomes. Aim of the Study: This study aims to assess the mental health (Depression, anxiety and stress) of patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. Methods:The study conducted at Khulna Medical College and Hospital lasted from 2022 to 2023, with 120 patients enrolled, all with a minimum 2-year history of type 2 diabetes mellitus.Inclusion criteria included patients over 20 years old and male and female patients with a specified diabetic history.Exclusion criteria involved patients with critical health conditions or communication difficulties.Data collection utilized structured and semi-structured questionnaires, as well as chart examinations.Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26.Result: The study examined 120 patients, finding that those over 60 years old accounted for 48.33%, with 47.50% aged 40-60 and only 4.17% under 40.Most patients were male (59.17%) and urban residents (79.10%), with 74.17% literate.Mental health issues were prevalent, with 34.17% experiencing stress, 32.50% anxiety, and 33.33% depression.Severity varied: mild group (50% depression, 11.11% anxiety, 38.89% stress), moderate group (56.52% depression, 26.09% anxiety, 17.39% stress), severe group (5.56% depression, 38.89% anxiety, 55.56% stress), and very severe group (15% depression, 55% anxiety, 30% stress). Conclusion:The study found high rates of depression, anxiety, and stress in Type II Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients, with factors like age, gender, education, and location influencing mental health.Integrating psychological assessments and interventions into T2DM management, routine screening, and multidisciplinary approaches can improve treatment adherence and quality of life.

: Introduction and Importance: The most serious illness, type II diabetes is a growing clinical and public health concern that significantly affects our daily lives. Depression has been associated with hyperglycemia and diabetes-related comorbidities include ophthalmology, nephropathy, neurotoxicity, and macro vascular problems in people with T2DM. Males typically experience it beyond the age of 60, whilst females typically experience it before the age of 40. Case Representation: 75-year-old female patient reported having type 2 diabetes mellitus in 2023. Height was 5 feet 1 inch, weight was 63 kg, and the BMI was 26.2 kg/m2. 1500 kcal per day of lifestyle change were employed in acupuncture treatments for type 2 diabetes mellitus. Abdomen: Acupuncture Typical Chinese procedure. The acupuncture procedure was carried out three times a week for three months. Fasting plasma glucose (FGP) and HbA1C tests were performed on the patient, and the findings were used to create a baseline. Each month during the acupuncture treatment, these factors were examined. Clinical Discussion: All data acquired over the course of three months were evaluated to determine the effect of acupuncture therapy in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. After three months of testing, the patient's fasting plasma glucose and HbA1c levels have decreased after acupuncture treatment. Additionally, no negative effects were noticed. Conclusion: The results of this clinical investigation are encouraging and provide proof that acupuncture is beneficial in lowering type 2 diabetes mellitus in a patient.
Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is a global health problem 1 .Populations most affected are from low and middle income countries like Bangladesh.Epidemiological studies have shown a significant increase in its prevalence in Bangladesh in the last few decades 2 .Among the heart disease, ischaemic heart disease is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality 3 .Myocardial infarction is the most important form of ischaemic heart disease 4 .
In the point of view of Western medicine nowadays, the human being is only made by matter but they do not understand yet that matter comes from energy, like all the things that compose the universe nowadays, according to Capra (1975) in his book entitled The Tao of Physics. With the implementation of Flexner report, all the other medical treatments that were more holistic view, were considered no scientific and from this time, the human was cut into half because part of this structure was not studied any more in the Universities and the diagnosis and treatment of all diseases were made only very late, when the energy imbalances in the body caused a real damage inside the body (and only after 5 or 10 years of energy disturbances, Western medicine can recognize that the patient is sick and needs treatment). [3-5] Also, when they do the diagnosis, they do not consider the energy alterations that has behind all signs and symptoms presented by the patient and the treatment is only localized to the symptoms and the entire body still not treated, as demonstrated by the author in many of her publications (leaf level and root level). Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a group of disorders characterised by inflammation of the mucosal lining of the nose and paranasal sinuses for at least 12 consecutive weeks. [1], [2] According to the Clinical Practice Guideline formulated by the Rhinosinusitis Task Force of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), diagnostic criteria for CRS depends on clinical symptoms and signs which are categorised into minor and major criteria. There are several mechanisms that drive the aging process in the human body.Cellular senescence which leads to permanent cell growth arrest and oxidative stress are examples of aging promoting mechanisms.Moreover, genetics and epigenetic play important roles in accelerating and/or delaying the onset of the aging process.miRNAs are important players in controlling OS, aging, and cellular senescence.The purpose of this study was to evaluate circulating erythrocyte miR-451 and miR-144 expression as potential biomarker of cell aging.Blood samples were collected from consented volunteers and miRNAs were isolated from a control group and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.Taqman primers were used for detection and quantification of miR-144 and miR-451.Erythrocytes were further sub-fractionated into young, mid and old age by using discontinuous Percoll gradient.miRNA's were isolated from erythrocytes using miRNA Isolation kit.The miR-451 expression was significantly down-regulated in old cells in T2DM group, while miR-144 expression was significantly up-regulated in old cells in T2DM.The findings of this study are consistent with our previous report of increase expression of miR-451 and miR-144 as the cell gets old.The current findings suggest that miR-451 and miR-144 may have a role in aging process.
Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) resulting from defects in the secretion of insulin, its action, or both. Many pathogenic processes are involved in the development of diabetes. These range from autoimmune destruction of the β-cells of the pancreas with consequent insulin deficiency to abnormalities that lead to resistance to the action of insulin. [1]
The information presented here were the analytical results observed from 960 adults residing in both urban and rural areas of Bangladesh.The adults were investigated by some doctors and nurses according to convenience and quota sampling plan.In the sample, 16.1% adults were suffering simultaneously form diabetes and neuropathy.Among the investigated adults 43.5% were from rural areas and prevalence of diabetic neuropathy was noted among 16.3% of them.The prevalence rates were17.1, 16.9, 17.8, 20.5, 19.3, 22.7, 28.4 and 17.6, respectively among males, married persons, Muslim adults, adults of ages 30 -50 years, secondary educated adults, farmers and unskilled labours, respondents from lowest family expenditure group of families and adults habituated in taking restaurant food.All categories of these respondents were more exposed to the prevalence of diabetes and neuropathy.Level of obesity was significantly associated with the prevalence of the disease under study, but overweight and obese persons were less affected (11.2%) by this health hazard.The most responsible variable for the prevalence of simultaneous diabetes and neuropathy was occupation followed by over age, physical inactivity, smoking habit, hypertension, body mass index and lower economic status.These variables were identified by factor analysis.
