
This study examines the advantages and challenges of initial coin offerings (ICOs), focusing on how market volatility and token non-acceptance affect investor behaviour in Thailand. Using the technology acceptance model (TAM) and structural equation modelling (SEM), the study surveyed 400 Thai investors. Findings indicate that ease of use significantly enhances the perceived usefulness of ICOs. Furthermore, investors' intention to use ICOs increases perceived ease of use (PEOU) and usefulness, highlighting the role of external factors, including market conditions, regulations, and technology. These external factors further strengthen the perceived effectiveness of ICOs. The study identifies intention to use ICOs as a key intermediary linking ease of use to perceived usefulness, with external factors actively influencing this relationship. It recommends that startups create adaptable platforms to meet regulatory demands, fostering investor confidence and enhancing ICO success in Thailand. This research provides valuable insights for developing user-centric ICO strategies in regulated markets.
This paper analysed the impact of last-mile logistics performances (LMLP) on the operations of the online food delivery (OFD) industry and also examined the influence of circular economy practices (CEP) across the economic, environmental, and social (Triple Bottom Line) dimensions on the achievement of customer's satisfaction (CUS). The research employs survey methodology to collect data from 389 clients of the OFD industry and analyse it using structural equation modelling (SEM). The finding affirmed that there are elements of predictability in the relationships between some of the identified endogenous variables and LMLP. Specifically, a statistically significant impact of consolidation of orders (COO), frequency of damage claims (FDC), mobile food ordering apps (MFOA), and the personality of the dispatch riders (PER) on LMLP was indicated. The results also brought to the fore the moderating influence of LMLP on the promotion of TBL dimensions and the attainment of CUS in the OFD industry.
Logistic modelling and benchmarking of logistics determinants is presented in study to report critical dimensions related to Logistics streams. The study presented 27 determinants related with logistics infrastructure and recognised many proportions associated with customers perceptions, purchaser perceived principles and customers buying behaviour for developing logistics policies and to evade resilient. The evaluation based on Fuzzy-MoSCoW analysis is done, where 'Must-Have' attributes are identified, which are further appraised using Fuzzy-DEMATEL approach to represent significant directions under logistic modelling. In study, Logistic framework is presented to portray a complete picture of logistics dimensions under one roof. Here, 10 determinants are found as 'Must-have' attributes, which reveal that the un-availability of these attributes will result dissatisfaction. Six determinants are found as "Should-Have", six determinants are found as "Could-Have", five determinants are found as "Won't-Have" attributes, which reveal that the inclusion of these determinants will not affect consumer satisfaction.
This study explores the innovation practices driving rapid new product development (NPD) in Chinese firms, focusing on two global companies in the construction equipment industry. Key practices identified include strategic investments in R&D, talent and patent management, mergers and acquisitions, and prioritisation of "good enough" product design with high customer service. The firms also emphasise shortened NPD phases, division of tasks, high engineer density, and parallel work using information platforms. Strong project management, quick decision-making by senior leaders, and a hardworking, flexible workforce further enhance speed. Viewed through an operations strategy lens, the study explains what Chinese firms prioritise, their management decisions, and the operational capabilities they develop. This case study provides empirical data that offers insights into the innovation agility of emerging economies and contributes to a broader understanding of strategic NPD for rapid innovation.
This study sought to identify different types of wastes during the plants' supply chain and to prioritise them using Spherical Fuzzy-AHP. This method considers the uncertainty of experts' judgements and helps the managers of the plant's industry to improve the performance through waste reduction in this supply chain. The proposed method was applied in the plant supply chain (PSC) of Isfahan province in Iran. The results of this study showed five types of waste in PSC. Finally, with respect to criteria of time, cost and quality, most important waste in PSC was identified. Defects in performing activities in wholesale and retail cold transport achieved the first rank through the Spherical Fuzzy-AHP in this case. The main assumption of this research is the independence of alternatives and criteria for using spherical fuzzy-AHP (SF-AHP).
Urgency and political incentives towards grand challenges, such as anthropogenic climate change, increase the importance of multi-actor and cross-sectoral cooperation approaches. One such approach referred to as mission-oriented innovation (MOI) encompasses multi-actor and cross-sectoral cooperation towards tackling grand challenges. However, there is a significant research gap regarding the engagement of SMEs in MOI. The ability to innovate and adapt makes SME engagement pivotal. This study aims to examine barriers towards SME engagement in MOI. Barriers were uncovered through an inductive qualitative case study. By performing a thematic analysis, barriers regarding lack of communication, resource distribution, and differences between political domains were uncovered. Contributing toward the significant gap in current literature, this study increases the knowledge towards engaging SMEs in MOI.
This study aims to determine the factors that influence electronic shopping cart abandonment using the underpinnings of social cognitive theory (SCT). Data were collected from 641 young online shoppers in the National Capital Region of India using the snowball-sampling technique. Partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the conceptual relationships and partial least square multi-group analysis (PLS-MGA) technique was used to examine the moderating effect of demographic variables on electronic shopping cart abandonment. The findings reveal that navigational design, e-service quality, utilitarian motive, and price value negatively impact electronic shopping cart abandonment. Further, demographic factors significantly moderate few relationships associated with electronic shopping cart abandonment (ESCA). Academically, this study is the pioneer study that uses the underpinnings of social cognitive theory to examine the impact of personal, social, and environmental factors on ESCA. Practically, insights from the findings of our study can help e-retailers to improve their strategies related to personal, social, and environmental factors to enhance customer experience and curb ESCA.
This paper bridges social and solidarity economy (SSE) principles with contemporary supply chain management (SCM) practices. It aims to analyze how SSE can reshape foundational SCM principles, identify contributions and challenges of an SSE-based SCM approach through a literature review, and validate these findings via an empirical study of local supply chains in selected African countries. Results reveal the transformative potential of integrating SSE in SCM, offering conceptual insights and practical recommendations for research and paradigm shifts. The study emphasises changes in SCM's epistemology, ontology, and typology to align with SSE's values-driven, community-oriented priorities. Empirical findings highlight the unique needs and benefits of SSE in African supply chains, providing a foundation for future SSE-SCM models. This paper pioneers exploration of SSE's theoretical and practical impacts on SCM, advancing research on social value creation and empowerment within supply chain practices.
This study investigates key service quality attributes in online food delivery services (OFDS) impacting customer choices using the DEQUAL model. It examines order accuracy, delivery speed, data privacy, application stability, and food temperature based on a sample of 818 regular OFDS users in Bangkok, Thailand. Through conjoint analysis, the study identifies critical attributes influencing customer preferences, including application stability, order accuracy, data privacy with explicit consent, and minimal temperature fluctuations. The findings enable scholars to determine the relative importance of each attribute and offer insights into factors most significantly affecting customer satisfaction and choice. OFDS companies can use these insights to optimise their services, enhancing their competitive advantage and customer loyalty. Additionally, restaurants and food delivery companies in other countries can apply this framework to evaluate their customers' preferences towards OFDS similarly.
The COVID-19 pandemic and later supply chain disruptions highlighted the need to re-evaluate current approaches in supply chains, the critical role of using disruptive technologies in dealing with disruptions, enabling end-to-end visibility, and creating more resilient supply chains. The study investigated the indirect effect of supply chain visibility (SCV) on the relationship between using disruptive technology and supply chain performance by utilising path analysis with latent variables. In this way, it helps supply chains achieve superior performance by enhancing visibility and focusing on technologies that will boost visibility in the technology investments. Moreover, the study encourages companies that have not initiated digital transformation to make transformation decisions by revealing the direct effects of technology and visibility on supply chains. The study was performed in four stages, and the sample size was 393 companies. The study will contribute considerably to the basis for further studies and the future's supply chains.
The purpose of the study is to create theoretical and methodological prerequisites for the design of a prototype digital twin of value chain management and new generation software products based on it. The results of the study include the sequence of the subject's influence on the objects of value chain management; classification of management objects and their coding methodology; a set of actual classification attributes and dichotomies of value chain management objects and the sequence of their use; and a typical algorithm for managing value chain objects as a prototype of the future structure of the desired digital twin. The obtained results allow to identify and model subjects and objects of value chain management, take into account their uniqueness and develop management decisions taking into account environmental factors, including countermeasures to competing value chains.
The aim of this study is to examine the impact of person-job fit and job-training fit on employee work behaviour. The paper also explored the moderating role of organisational commitment, environmental fit and psychological empowerment as essential yet rarely explored constructs. To achieve the intended objectives, the study used a quantitative research design, consisting of a survey of 600 employees in the manufacturing sector in Ghana. Barrett's (1978) congruence theory helped to frame and contextualises employee work behaviour. The results showed that person-job fit had a positive and significant impact on the in-role performance of employees. The moderator analysis showed that the relationship between job training fit and in-role performance of the employee is stronger when organisational commitment is high rather than low. Practically, organisations must focus on improving the person-job fit of employees (through competence training and psychological empowerment) to improve productivity.
Nowadays, industrial companies face different unexpected global crises that require capabilities in supply chain resilience (SCRes) and organisational resilience (ORes) management. The aim of this study was to identify the capabilities needed to strengthen SCRes and ORes in industrial customer and supplier companies. Research data were collected from 13 semi-structured interviews and a workshop with participants from customer and supplier companies. As a result, five essential capability themes are highlighted for SCRes and ORes: leadership in the organisation and SC, sustainable and collaborative customer-supplier partnerships, intra- and inter-organisational communication and information sharing, proactive business continuity management, and anticipation of future events. This study introduces a SCRes and ORes development path, highlighting the abilities to lead individuals within the organisation and SC and to foster sustainable and collaborative relationships for enhancing SCRes and ORes capabilities. Our findings benefit industrial companies by providing concrete suggestions for developing capabilities to advance SCRes and ORes.
