This paper presents an automatic room conditioning system for controlling temperature and relative humidity at an essential level. The system is intended to design for the production of fruit-fly in a mass scale by automatically maintaining the room conditions of sterile insect technique (SIT) laboratory. The designed system consists of microcontrollers, a temperature and relative humidity sensor module, a radio-frequency (RF) data transmitter and receiver module, keypad and switching circuits. The integrated system works as a microcontroller acquires the temperature and relative humidity value from the sensor module, compares it to the predefined value of these parameters, and generates corresponding signals for the switching circuits to keep the temperature and relative humidity at required level.Data acquisition from senor module is performed using bidirectional 2-wire communication protocol. Moreover, the temperature and relative humidity data along with switching records are transmitted to a remote monitoring unit using RF transmitter and receiver module, where the more flexible universal synchronous/asynchronous receiver/transmitter (USART) protocol is employed for performing the serial communication between microcontroller and RF transmitter and receiver modules. The results show that the developed prototype system is performing satisfactory to maintain the desired room conditioning for mass production of fruit-fly of SIT laboratory and to monitor the room conditions remotely. It is supposed that this low-cost user friendly system can also contribute in many research and industrial areas, where automatic room conditioning system is crucial.
This study ascertained the effectiveness of Multimedia instructional package in improving primary school pupils' achievement in basic science at both post and follow-up measures. The design of the study was a randomized control trial experimental design. This design was apt since randomization of subjects was not done and intact classes were used. The sample size was 85 pupils from the two intact classes formed the participant for the study.Basic Science Achievement Test (BSAT) was used to collect data for the study. The internal consistency reliability index of BSAT was determined to be 0.87 using Kuder-Richardson formula 20 while the estimate of the temporal stability of the BSAT was 0.91 using person correlation.Analyses of covariance (ANCOVA) was used in testing the hypotheses at the 5% probability level. The use of multimedia projection in the form of Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) significantly (p < .050)improved pupils' achievement in basic science. The efficacy of the CAL in improving the pupils' achievement in Basic science was retained at the follow-up measure.Multimedia projection package proved very effective in enhancing the achievement in basic science.
Data security is one of the major challenges encountered by cloud computing. The cloud data is shared among multiple entities which can be intentionally or unintentionally revealed out by any agent to the unauthorized recipient. Therefore, it has become a necessity to detect the malicious agent for protecting shared information. In this regard, we present a framework based on the probabilistic estimation that identifies the malicious agent for minimizing the likelihood of further leakage. In the proposed model, the data is distributed among multiple agents and the allocation is performed using 2-level trees. The parameters based on probability theory are computed for malicious agent identification when the data is leaked by any agent. The experimental results achieved average probability, average success rate, and detection rate up to 1, 0.98, 0.76 respectively for the various number of agents.
In industry, Robotics needs precise control for handling various production activities. The proposed research is to measure the gesture grip value of both human hand and Robotic hand. The measured value of both human hand gripping and robotic hand gripping should be same. This leads for more perfection.Flex sensors are used to measure the value of gripping in both human hand and robotic hand.To achieve the exact control, camera visualizes the robotic hand activities from remote area.Pick and place of object is most significant task of robotic hand.Grip of robotic hand mimics human hand for handling different objects. The aim is to develop robotic hand handling of object similar to real human hand. The robotic hand design has 5 fingers 14 degree of freedom.
In Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) proposing dynamically configurable multiconstrained Quality of Service (QoS) enabled routing is a tedious job because of the unpredictable nature of the network. To propose a routing algorithm in aligned with MANET behavior, it is important to understand network behavior in terms of packet delivery under different stack configuration. Available packet delivery data set under various stack parameter configurations in CRAWDAD is incorporated to take a decision on QoS enabled routing. Prior to making use of available data, it is very much necessary to assess the quality of data with different quality assessment attribute. Dataset is assessed in the R environment and various assessment graphs are drawn based on the Quality assessment attribute indicating the quality of data set.
This paper introduces an individual difference in the activities of the prefrontal cortex when a person wants to listen to music using near-infrared spectroscopy. The individual differences are confirmed by visualizing the variation in oxygenated hemoglobin level. The sensing positions used to record the brain activities are around the prefrontal cortex. The existence of individual differences was verified by experiments. The experiment results show that active positions while feeling a wish to listen to music are different in each subject, and an oxygenated hemoglobin level is different in each subject compared to its value when a subject does not feel the wish to listen to music. The experiment results show that it is possible to detect a wish to listen to the music based on changes in the oxygenated hemoglobin level. Also, these results suggest that active positions are different in each subject because the sensitivities and how to feel on stimulus are different. Lastly, the results suggest that it is possible to express the individual differences as differences in active positions.
Sustainability is regarded as one of the main goals of human activities and development process, which plays a vital role in construction projects. It can be defined as an approach, which is mainly used for stabilizing economic, social and environmental aspects (Rosen, 2012). People must focus on achieving sustainabilityduring operations for the purpose of generating favourable results. In this regard, the effectiveness of engineering sustainability in deriving positive results for the constructions projects all over the world cannot be ignored. Selection of resources, the introduction of sustainable practices, efficient use of resources and environmental stewardship are viewed to be the critical requirements of developing and maintaining engineering sustainability. Therefore, this research paper intends to investigate the critical quality issues that affect the sustainability of construction projects specifically in Oman and other regional countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) namelyQatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
