
Cache marks tremendous importance in the life of a processor as it contributes to enhancing the performance of a CPU. It is of no use if it's not efficiently and effectively utilized. This study focuses on finding approaches that are helpful for cache utilization in a much organized and systematic way. Multiple tests were implemented to remove the challenges faced during the practical implementation of such techniques. These approaches include Data Alignment, Eager Write back, Access Aware Cache Management, Linear Relaxation Method, and Data- Computation Reorganization.
A drone or Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is an aircraft that does not have a human pilot on board. An Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) comprises of a UAV, a ground-based controller, and a communication mechanism between the two. In terms of flying autonomy, UAVs can have varied degrees of autonomy. As opposed to crewed aircraft, UAVs were initially utilised for tasks that were too dull, unclean, or dangerous for humans. Aerial photography, package delivery, agriculture, enforcement and monitoring, infrastructure inspections, research, smuggling, and drone racing are just a few of the uses for drones, which were originally created for military use.

The embedding of technology in the business world is a benefit from many perspectives. Its overuse, however, can lead to the undermining of trust and, in some instances, result in the demoralization and dehumanization of the employee. One must ensure that its use does not hinder the professional ambition and goals of our workforce.
Proofs of principle experiments were performed demonstrating the use of in-situ sensors to monitor the integrity of solder joints and component leads in printed circuit boards. The approach taken was to use the Electro- Mechanical Impedance (EMI) method, using bonded piezo-electric sensors, to probe the changing mechanical behavior of a solder joint/component lead as intentional damage was introduced. The EMI method for detecting structural damage is based on the principle that the electrical response of a bonded piezoelectric sensor is coupled with the mechanical response of the structure. The EMI method has been applied to structural health monitoring of aerospace and civil structures, but has seen limited application to very small structures such as circuit boards and, in particular, components used in avionics. In this paper we present four different types of applications on commercial printed circuit boards. In all the demonstrations intentional damage was introduced, and the electrical response of the sensor, bonded near the component under study, was recorded over a range of frequencies. The four demonstrations were: 1) cutting of resistor leads; 2) cutting of pins of an integrated circuit; 3) progressive pull-out of a lead from a solder joint; 4) fatigue of a component lead. The results from all the tests showed that a monotonic response of the sensor was obtained when progressive damage was introduced, demonstrating the potential of this method for monitoring damage of component connections in circuit boards.

If untreated, 50 percent of patients die within five years. More than any other infectious disease, TB kills approximately 1 million women per year. Each year, TB kills 100 000 children. Tuberculosis is the most common cause of orphanage. Untreatable bacteria can destroy the progress of TB control achieved in the last 50 years. There are no drugs to combat some resistant TB bacteria (in developed countries 50 million people may be infected)
The present study aims to investigate the role of raw and treated kaolin as a filler in the main characteristics of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) composites. Raw low-grade kaolin sample from the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt was physically and thermally treated using magnetic separation and calcination process at 700°C for 120 minutes, respectively, to produce calcined kaolin. Analysis by X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence were performed on both untreated and calcined kaolin samples, which were used as fillers in the synthesis of PVC compounds. To characterize the resultant products, density, tensile strength, elongation, thermal stability, and volume resistivity tests were carried out on these components. The results show an improvement in the quality of the raw kaolin after the application of the beneficiation processes. The TiO2% decreased from 3.72% to 2.78%, Fe2O3% decreased from 1.6% to 1.04%, and Loss on Ignition (LOI) decreased from 10.69% to 0.43%. Moreover, the calcined kaolin enhanced the tensile properties of the prepared PVC composites. The volume resistivity of the PVC composites were also increased from 2.1469 × 1012 Ωcm for PVC/raw Kaolin (KL) composite sample to 8.8870 × 1013 Ωcm for PVC/Calcined Kaolin (CKL). However, the thermal properties show higher thermal stability values for PVC/ KL samples.
A large strain optical measurement method has been developed to determine bore strain in solid rocket motors. Based on an approach using polymeric multimode optical fibers, the strain transfer between the solid propellant and sensor is 100% and is independent of the Young’s modulus of the fiber. While glass fibers would also work in this approach, polymeric optical fibers were chosen to prevent fiber fracture during installation. Calibration tests have shown a strain capability of at least 10%, and the method should be able to accommodate even larger strains. The sensor was used to monitor tangential bore strain in an inert solid rocket motor during thermal cycling, and the repeatability of the results was good, indicating little drift over the twenty hour tests. The method may also find use in other applications where a sensor is needed that not only measures large strain but retains the advantages of optical fibers.
Modern three-dimensional (3-D) medical imaging offers the potential and promise for major advances in science and medicine as higher fidelity images are produced. Due to advances in computer aided diagnosis and continuous progress in the field of computerized medical image visualization, there is need to develop one of the most important fields within scientific imaging. From the early basis report on cancer patients it has been seen that a greater number of people die of lung cancer than from other cancers such as colon, breast and prostate cancers combined. Lung cancer are related to smoking (or secondhand smoke), or less often to exposure to radon or other environmental factors that’s why this can be prevented. But still it is not yet clear if these cancers can be prevented or not. In this research work, approach of segmentation, feature extraction and Convolution Neural Network (CNN) will be applied for locating, characterizing cancer portion.

The study of how gases interact with moving bodies is known as aerodynamics. Aerodynamics is largely concerned with the forces of drag and lift induced by air flowing over and around solid bodies, because air is the most common gas human encounter.
Problem: As outlined by the NHS Five Year Forward View, rapid advancements in technology mean it is becoming a prodigious tool in healthcare management. It endeavors to support efforts for more effective demand and more personalized, user-centred care. One such example is m-health, digital health in the form of mobile phone apps, as part of wider telemedicine; studies have shown that use of such technology can increase patient satisfaction, reduce costs and improve treatment adherence. However, the slow uptake of this technology in the NHS and lack of literature surrounding its use, particularly in pre-operative surgical care made exploring the views of major stakeholders in adoption vital. Methodology: 16 semi-structured interviews (SSI) were used to interview healthcare professionals (HCPs) identified as key stakeholders in the pre-operative pathway for elective hip and knee surgery at ICHT. Key stakeholders were chosen based on a process map, created with the help of HCPs. These included General Practitioners, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Orthogeriatricians, Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. Interviews were stopped once data saturation had been achieved. Once interviews were concluded, a thematic analysis was conducted to identify themes in the data. Findings and recommendations were then member-checked with the interviewees. Ethical approval was received from Imperial College Research Ethics Committee on 05/02/2019. Conclusion & Significance: The literature and SSIs showed that m-health within the pre-operative process for elective orthopaedic surgery was promising in being used for patient education, providing a communication portal with the patient to address concerns and issues as well as monitoring patient progress via records of physical activity to improve accessibility, personalization and reduction in burden and overall costs to HCPs. However, the lack of access to mobile phones and the lack of digital literacy in the elderly and patient compliance did pose as some challenges in its widespread adoption.
There is no single technology that will deliver “speed” or “innovation” as such. Digital transformation is not only about tools and technology, is about people. But if people lack the right mindset to change and the current organizational practices are flawed, DT will simply magnify those flaws. The best combination of mindset, people, processes, and tools for a given organization it is key for success. Every change starts with giving space to new thinking. After one thousand years of Middle Ages and nothing more to invent, here it comes the Renaissance, a period of enlightenment, a new way of looking at society, humans, religion and art. The future of work will call for a return of the Renaissance figure: A person with many talents, interest and areas of knowledge and with the fusion of emotional and technical skills. Here it comes the Digital Evolution and a next generation of super employees. Hundred of years after the first Renaissance, we see cultures stuck in the Middle Ages all over the world, we see organizations stuck in an unwillingness to change. And this due to the fact that the human tendency is to choose safety (the known) over growth and value everywhere. Instead of discarding new ideas, it might be a good to listen to new thinkers. Are we cultivating new thinking or do we keep the same old (and safe…) thinking alive? How can we create space for new thinking to arise in and then cultivate the ideas that show up?
