
Out of total twenty-one cadavers studied, in a 62 years old male donated cadaver, we found the Right Occipital artery was discovered to be dilated (enlarged). The left occipital artery was normal and unremarkable. The origin and course of both sided occipital arteries was as usual. In vascular lesions, the Occipital artery is a crucial artery. It is also one of the most suitable donor arteries in conditions like aneurysms.
Anatomical variations and aberrations represent an ever-present challenge to clinicians in general and surgeons in particular. This is particularly true if the variation is rare and the clinical context doesn’t permit a thorough investigation, such as would happen intraoperatively. The unfamiliarity with abnormal anatomy and contextual time constraints may preclude their timely recognition, which may result, subsequently in significant morbidity. The shifting paradigms in anatomy education in both undergraduate and residency medical programs may be linked to an increasingly cited “abnormal anatomy “as a cause for morbidity and mortality in litigious literature. Therefore, Continuous, and self-directed learning, in the face of diminished formal anatomy curricula, is essential to achieving this end. In this case report we describe an incident of iatrogenic excision of a leaf of a bifid xiphisternum mistaken for a migrated ingested bone and the clinical lessons imparted from it. We also provide a relevant literature review.
Introduction: Anthropology plays an important role in various medicolegal aspects; apart from determination of Age, Sex and Race of individual, stature is also one of the important parameter of identification various civil and criminal cases. Therefore efforts have been made to determine association between stature and length of clavicle if any. Materials and Method: The present research was carried out in department of Anatomy JNMC Sawangi (M) Wardha; was conducted on total 50 Female individual of age 17–24. The length was calculated with the help of osteometric callipers for clavicles from anatomical landmarks and stature was calculated in centimetres. Conclusion. From present research it was concluded that the length of clavicle and stature reveals positive correlation and the linear relationship between the living stature and length of clavicle of each side was carried out in the form of regression equation.
