The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into human resource management (HRM) represents a major transformation in how organizations manage their workforce, while intrapreneurial behavior has become a key source of innovation and competitive advantage. This study develops a conceptual framework on the relationship between AI-enabled HRM practices and intrapreneurial behavior informed by a selective review of existing empirical literature across diverse industries and geographical contexts, drawing on quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method studies. Grounded in Self-Determination Theory, the proposed framework suggests that AI-enabled HRM practices foster intrapreneurial behavior through four key psychological mechanisms: employee autonomy, psychological safety, self-efficacy, and employee exploration. These mechanisms enable employees to generate innovative ideas, recognize opportunities, take initiative, engage in calculated risk-taking, and develop networks that support intrapreneurial activities. The framework further proposes that organizational culture and firm size shape the strength of these relationships by influencing the extent to which AI-enabled HRM practices can be effectively translated into innovative employee behaviors. The framework also recognizes the dual nature of AI implementation, which can enhance employee capabilities while also raising concerns such as job insecurity. Overall, this study integrates fragmented literature into a unified, literature grounded framework and provides directions for future research and managerial practice in AI-enabled HRM and intrapreneurship
Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) are banks listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. These banks are authorized to carry out commercial banking activities and are eligible to avail facilities from the central bank, including refinancing and liquidity support. NPA is defined as a credit facility in respect of which the interest and/or installment of principal has remained ‘past due’ for a specified period of time. In simple terms, an asset is tagged as non- performing when it ceases to generate income for the lender. NPA is used by financial institutions that refer to loans that are in jeopardy of default. Once the borrower has failed to make interest or principle payments for 90 days the loan is considered to be a non-performing asset.
Social media’s explosive growth has drastically changed how customers engage with brands and make decisions about what to buy. This paper examines the rise of social commerce and how it is impacting and reshaping the e-commerce and have influence on consumer behaviour by synthesizing existing literature and theoretical perspectives. Key factors such as, trust, social support, reviews, recommendations, and impulsive buying behaviour, influencer marketing are analyzed to understand their impact on consumer buying behaviour. The study provides insights for practitioners and researchers who seek to understand and use social commerce in the digital marketplace.
This study proposes a neuro-information economics framework that integrates information economics and neuromarketing perspectives to explain consumer decision-making in digital marketplaces. While information credibility and accessibility have long been recognized as key determinants of purchasing behaviour, existing models provide limited insight into the role of subconscious emotional processes in shaping consumer responses to information. Addressing this gap, the study examines how emotional engagement mediates the relationship between information credibility and consumer outcomes, including perceived product quality, trust, purchase intention, and loyalty. Drawing on survey data collected from urban consumers in Chennai, India, the research employs Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to test the proposed conceptual framework. The findings reveal that emotionally engaging information cues—such as influencer endorsements, packaging design elements, and verified online reviews—significantly strengthen the positive effects of information credibility on consumer trust and purchase intentions. Emotional engagement further enhances customer loyalty by reinforcing favourable perceptions of product quality and brand reliability. The study contributes to consumer behaviour theory by introducing an interdisciplinary framework that bridges economic and neurological approaches to decision-making. The findings offer practical implications for marketers and digital platform managers seeking to design communication strategies that simultaneously enhance information credibility and emotional resonance. By demonstrating the interaction between cognitive evaluation and affective response, the research advances the emerging field of neuro-information economics and provides a foundation for future investigations into digitally mediated consumer behaviour.
Tax revenue plays a crucial role in ensuring fiscal sustainability and supporting economic development by financing public expenditure and government welfare programmes. The responsiveness of tax revenue to economic growth is commonly measured through tax buoyancy and tax elasticity, which provide insights into the efficiency and productivity of a country’s tax system. This study empirically examines the tax buoyancy and tax elasticity of central government taxes in India using annual secondary time-series data for the period 1991–92 to 2024–25. Secondary data were collected from the Union Budget Documents, Ministry of Finance, and Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Controller General of Accounts (CGA), National Statistical Office (NSO), and the RBI Database on Indian Economy (DBIE). The study employs descriptive statistics, growth trend analysis, log-linear regression models, and correlation analysis to estimate tax buoyancy, tax elasticity, and the relationship between Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and central government tax revenue. The findings reveal a steady growth in central government tax revenues during the study period. The estimated tax buoyancy coefficient exceeds unity, indicating that tax revenue has increased more than proportionately with economic growth, whereas the tax elasticity coefficient remains below unity, suggesting that the inherent responsiveness of the tax system is relatively lower after adjusting for discretionary tax policy measures. Furthermore, a strong positive relationship is observed between GDP and central government tax revenue. The study concludes that although recent tax reforms have improved revenue mobilisation, further policy measures aimed at broadening the tax base, strengthening tax compliance, and enhancing administrative efficiency are essential to improve the automatic responsiveness of the tax system and ensure long-term fiscal sustainability.
Sir Chhotu Ram (1881–1945) stands among the most influential agrarian reformers in Indian history. Born into a farming family in undivided Punjab, he rose to prominence as a political leader, legislator, and social reformer whose life’s mission was the upliftment of peasants and marginalized rural communities. At a time when colonial economic policies and moneylender exploitation had pushed farmers into chronic indebtedness and land alienation, Sir Chhotu Ram introduced revolutionary legal reforms that protected cultivators, regulated credit systems, strengthened agricultural markets, and ensured social justice. This research paper examines Sir Chhotu Ram’s life, political ideology, legislative achievements, and long-term contribution to farmer empowerment. It analyzes how his policies transformed rural Punjab and laid foundations for post-independence agrarian governance in India. His work demonstrates how constitutional methods and legal reforms can be powerful tools for social change.
Recent geopolitical developments in the Arctic region have renewed strategic interest in Greenland, particularly from the United States. Statements and actions suggesting enhanced U.S. control over Greenland have generated diplomatic tensions involving Denmark, Greenland’s autonomous government, and broader alliance structures such as NATO. This paper employs a game-theoretic framework to analyze the strategic interaction between the United States and Denmark-Greenland, conceptualizing the episode as a Chicken-type deterrence game embedded within an alliance structure. By incorporating concepts of signaling, commitment, reputation, and endogenous payoffs, the study demonstrates how alliance formation and repeated interactions alter equilibrium outcomes over time. The analysis highlights that geopolitical outcomes are shaped not merely by relative power but by belief formation, credibility of threats, and coalition support. The paper contributes to the political economy literature by linking geopolitical signaling with economic and strategic payoffs, offering insights into the evolving nature of contemporary deterrence and alliance politics.
The present study examined the role of sense of subordination in determining the subjective well-being of employees working in government and private sector organizations. In workplace settings, employees often experience hierarchical relationships where perceived low power, dependency, and inferiority may influence their psychological health and life satisfaction. The study was carried out on a sample of 187 employees, including 97 private sector employees and 90 government employees, with a mean age of 36.4 years. Participants were selected from Darbhanga and Begusarai districts of Bihar using a purposive cum snowball sampling technique. The Social Comparison Scale (Allan & Gilbert, 1995) was used to assess sense of subordination, while Subjective Well-Being Inventory (Nagpal & Sell, 1992) was administered to measure subjective well-being. The findings revealed a significant difference between government and private sector employees in sense of subordination, with private sector employees showing relatively higher subordination. Similarly, government sector employees reported significantly higher subjective well-being compared to private sector employees. Correlation analysis indicated a significant negative relationship between sense of subordination and subjective well-being, suggesting that employees experiencing greater subordination tend to have lower levels of well-being. Regression analysis further confirmed that sense of subordination significantly predicted subjective well-being among employees. The results highlight that psychological experiences of rank and power imbalance at workplace can meaningfully shape employees’ happiness and satisfaction in life. The study implies that improving workplace dignity, autonomy, and respectful supervisory practices may contribute to better well-being, particularly among private sector employees.
The paper examined how political parties and the people’s movement fared in the 2023 general elections in Nigeria. The people’s movement was a group that sprang up to support the candidacy of Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections. The group called itself Obidient Movement, a name they coined from the surname of their principal, Peter Obi. The group cut across all political parties and all strata of the Nigerian society and existed in all the geo-political zones of the country. The Obidient Movement transcended traditional, political, religious and ethnic affiliations. The group was mostly led by young people across political, ethnic and religious divides. The movement believed that Peter Obi represented the face of a new and better Nigeria rather than the old recycled politicians that had inflicted poverty, unemployment, insecurity, and inflation, poor social and infrastructural facilities on the people. Though the movement failed to vote in Peter Obi as the President of Nigeria in the 2023 Presidential election, the movement shocked everyone by winning 8 Senatorial Seats, 34 House of Representatives Seats, a State Governor (Abia State) and several House of Assembly Seats. The Obidient Movement also called the people’s movement aimed to end bad governance in Nigeria. The movement which supported the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections defeated the ruling party APC, and the PDP in their strongholds in Lagos, Katsina, Nasarawa, Plateau and the Federal Capital Territory. Following the strong impact of the people’s movement in defeating well established political parties in the 2023 general elections, it was recommended that the movement should transform into a political party, that there should be good governance in Nigeria and that electoral bodies should be credible in the conduct of elections in Nigeria, among others. It was concluded that until the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral system is prioritized above party’s influence, Nigeria may not get it right as a country.
Emotional Intelligence (EI) which is often referred to as the ability to detect, comprehend, control and manipulate emotions in oneself and other employees has become a paramount tool in the creation of a work environment that is productive and harmonious. When the textile industry, which is usually characterised by labour-intensive activities, repetitive operations, and work-stressful environment, is considered, EI provides a viable solution to employee performance enhancement and organizational performance. Historically, the textile industry was dominated by the trend towards productivity and efficiency, yet the industry has come to adopt the impact of non-technical aspects like emotional intelligence in improving general employee engagement and overall organizational success. This study examines the inseparable role of EI in facilitating a favourable working culture in the context of textile units, with the view to its impact on motivation, morale, and productivity of workers in system, in terms of emotional intelligence. The five major dimensions of EI studied include self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills and the study explores how they directly lead to the creation of a work culture that helps in facilitating collaboration, stress at workplace and also job satisfaction. The mixed-methods design, which incorporates the qualitative and quantitative data gathered among the employees and managers working in the textile units, allows the research to pinpoint the effect of EI on the organizational culture, especially with regard to communication, teamwork, conflict management, and leadership skills. The results indicate that there is a strong positive relationship between a high measure of EI and high productivity of the employees in the workplace, which supports the role of EI in the creation of a supportive and successful working environment. The paper also covers the further implications of EI to the employee retention, job satisfaction, and the overall sustainability of textile units implying that EI can be utilized as an effective instrument of enhancing the mental and emotional health of workers. Moreover, it gives practical suggestions that textile unit managers can apply so as to be integrated into organizational practices through incorporation of EI training and development programs and this will produce an emotionally intelligent workforce that is more productive and at the same time more engaged, motivated, and loyal. Conclusively, the study lays stress on the seriousness of emotional intelligence in facilitating a healthy work culture and higher employee output, which can give a textile unit an opportunity to incorporate the EI concepts in their operational and strategic approaches towards achieving long-term success.
The present study examined the mediating role of loneliness in the relationship between helplessness and depression among college teachers. Teaching in higher education involves multiple academic and administrative demands, which may lead to feelings of powerlessness and emotional strain. A descriptive correlational research design was adopted for the study. The sample consisted of 140 college teachers drawn from affiliated (65) and constituent (75) colleges, selected through purposive and incidental sampling methods. Data were collected using standardized Indian tools measuring learned helplessness, loneliness, and depression. Pearson’s correlation and regression-based mediation analysis were employed to analyse the data. The results revealed significant positive relationships between helplessness and depression, helplessness and loneliness, and loneliness and depression. Further analysis showed that loneliness partially mediated the relationship between helplessness and depression, indicating that feelings of helplessness contribute to depressive symptoms both directly and indirectly through increased loneliness. Bootstrapping confirmed the significance of the indirect effect. The findings suggest that loneliness acts as an important psychological pathway through which helplessness influences depression among college teachers. The study highlights the need for institutional and psychological interventions that not only reduce feelings of helplessness but also enhance social connectedness and collegial support. Addressing loneliness may play a crucial role in improving the mental health and overall well-being of college teachers.
The increasing popularity of No Cost EMI (Equated Monthly Installment) schemes in India has reshaped consumer purchasing and financial management practices, particularly in the electronics sector. This paper explores how consumers plan, budget, and manages their finances when engaging in No Cost EMI purchases. While the scheme promotes affordability and accessibility, it simultaneously alters traditional budgeting patterns, savings habits, and perceptions of debt. Many consumers view such EMI’s as cost-free, leading to changes in spending discipline and long-term planning. The study aims to analyze financial management practices such as budgeting, debt control, and savings adjustment influenced by No Cost EMI usage. Insights from existing literature highlight that while such schemes democratize access to high-value goods, they also create challenges in liquidity management and responsible borrowing. The findings emphasize the importance of financial literacy, transparency in EMI terms, and consumer education in promoting sustainable financial behavior.

This study investigates the persistent inequities in access to higher education (HE) in the United Kingdom, focusing on underrepresented groups over a 15-year period. Drawing on longitudinal data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the Office for Students (OfS), and qualitative interviews, the research identifies structural, socio-economic, and institutional barriers that continue to shape participation patterns. The study finds that despite policy interventions aimed at widening participation, disparities remain stark for students from low-income households, ethnic minorities, care-experienced individuals, and disabled students. The paper argues that equity in access is not merely a matter of entry but of sustained inclusion, progression, and success. It concludes with policy recommendations grounded in empirical evidence, calling for a shift from access-focused metrics to holistic equity frameworks that account for lived experience, intersectionality, and systemic disadvantage.

The rapid transformation of the restaurant industry in urban India has resulted in a discernible shift in consumer preferences from conventional dining establishments to theme-based restaurants that prioritize immersive and experiential consumption. This study examines the factors influencing such preference shifts among consumers in Chennai, with particular emphasis on demographic characteristics, social media influence, and experiential dining attributes, including ambience and thematic appeal. A quantitative research design was employed, with primary data collected through a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. Using purposive sampling, 111 respondents who actively engage in dining out and interact with food-related digital content were selected. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, correlation analysis, and multiple regression techniques to evaluate the relationships between demographic variables, digital influence, and experiential factors. The findings indicate that age and income significantly affect consumer preferences, whereas occupation does not demonstrate a statistically significant impact. Furthermore, social media platforms and food vloggers exert a substantial influence on restaurant selection, with strong positive correlations observed between vlogger credibility, trust, and behavioral intention. Among experiential determinants, ambience emerged as the most significant predictor, followed by thematic uniqueness and cleanliness, highlighting a pronounced inclination toward experience-oriented consumption. The study concludes that consumer behavior within the restaurant sector is increasingly shaped by the convergence of digital influence and experiential value creation, reflecting a broader transition toward the experience economy, and offers practical implications for restaurant operators to enhance customer engagement through innovative thematic concepts, aesthetic differentiation, and strategic digital marketing interventions.
AbstractIndia’s public administration, a dynamic and intricate framework, calls for a new era of policy stability and governance efficiency. The "One Nation, One Election" (ONOE) proposal presents a transformative approach to meet this demand, advocating synchronized elections for the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. This chapter analyzes ONOE from a public administration perspective, focusing on its contributions to policy stability, administrative efficiency, federal governance, and citizen-centric administration. Employing public administration theories such as John Dilulio’s New Public Administration, Woodrow Wilson’s administrative good governance, Robert Denhardt’s New Public Service, Herbert Simon’s decision-making theory, and George Frederickson’s social equity theory, it explores ONOE’s impact on governance structures and policy implications.
