This paper analyzes the impact of multiple scenarios on the utility’s financials using Revenue and Tariff Analysis for Electric Utilities (RATE) model. The RATE modeling tool can provide actionable insights into the impact of various decisions on overall demand–supply scenarios, the energy balance, and revenue gaps. The model was customized for application to Tamil Nadu (TN) by World Resources Institute (WRI) in collaboration with Prayas (Energy Group) as a knowledge partner.

We consider the K^0 - \bar K^0 and B^0 - \bar B^0 mixings in the MSSM with the two-Higgs-doublet scalar sector featuring explicit CP violation, and the Yukawa sector of type II. In the case of strong mixing between CP-odd and CP-even states the existence of light charged Higgs is allowed in the model. The mass splitting Δm_{LS} and the amount of indirect CP violation εare calculated. In the limit of effective low-energy approximation the nonstandard effects are shown to be negligibly small in Δm_{LS} and εfor the K^0-mesons, being almost independent on the charged Higgs boson mass. However, for the B_d^0 - \bar B_d^0 and B_s^0 - \bar B_s^0 systems the effects of nonstandard physics are shown to be larger, limiting the MSSM parameter space.
We consider the pairing of electrons and holes due to their Coulomb attraction in two parallel, independently gated graphene layers, separated by a barrier. At weak coupling, there exist the BCS-like pair-condensed state. Despite the fact that electrons and holes behave like massless Dirac fermions, the problem of BCS-like electron-hole pairing in graphene bilayer turns out to be rather similar to that in usual coupled semiconductor quantum wells. The distinctions are due to Berry phase of electronic wave functions and different screening properties. We estimate values of the gap in one-particle excitation spectrum for different interlayer distances and carrier concentrations. Influence of disorder is discussed. At large enough dielectric susceptibility of surrounding medium, the weak coupling regime holds even at arbitrarily small carrier concentrations. Localized electron-hole pairs are absent in graphene, thus the behavior of the system versus coupling strength is cardinally different from usual BCS-BEC crossover.
Cosmic gamma-ray bursts with primary-photon energies > 10 GeV are sought in the data from the Andyrchy array obtained in the mode of detection of a single cosmic-ray component during a net observation period of 2005.4 d. The distribution of fluctuations of the detector counting rate agrees with the expected cosmic-ray background, the only exception being an event with a deviation of 7.9 sigma. Constraints on the number density of evaporating primordial black holes in a local region of the Galaxy are obtained for the chromospheric evaporation models.
The reflectance, transmittance, and absorbance of a symmetric electromagnetic pulse with a carrier frequency close to the frequency of direct interband transitions in a quantum well are calculated. The energy levels in the quantum well are assumed to be discrete, and two closely spaced excited levels are taken into account. The theory holds true for quantum wells of an arbitrary width at which the quantum confinement is retained. The calculations are performed with due regard for the difference between the refractive indices of the quantum well and the barriers. In this case, there appears an additional reflection from the quantum-well boundaries. The additional reflection results in a substantial change in the shape of the reflected pulse as compared to that characteristic of a homogeneous medium. The reflection from the quantum-well boundaries disappears at specific ratios between the carrier frequency of the exciting pulse and the quantum-well width.
The final state interactions in $K^\pm\toπ^\pmπ^0π^0$ decays are considered using the methods of non-relativistic quantum mechanics. We show how to take into account the largest electromagnetic effects in the analysis of experimental data, using the amplitudes calculated earlier. We propose the relevant expressions for amplitude corrections valid both above and below the two charged pion production threshold $M_{π^0π^0}=2m_{π^\pm}$, including the average effect for the threshold bin. These formulae can be used in the procedure of pion scattering lengths measurement from $M_{π^0π^0}$ spectrum.
Proteomic approaches have been used for detection and identification of cytochromes P450 forms from highly purified membrane preparations of human liver. These included the protein separation by 2D-and/or 1D-electrophoresis and molecular scanning of a SDS-PAGE gel fragment in a range 45–66 kDa (this area corresponds molecular weights of cytochromes P450). The analysis of protein content was statistically evaluated by means of an original 1D-ZOOMER software package which allowed to carry out the processing of mass spectra mixture instead of individual mass spectra used by standard techniques. In the range 45–66 kDa we identified 13 microsomal membrane proteins including such cytochrome P450 forms as CYPs 1A2, 1B1, 2A6, 2E1, 2C8, 2C9, 2C10, 2D6, 3A4, 4A11, 4F2. Study of enzymatic activities of human liver microsomal cytochrome P450 isoforms CYP 1A, 2B, 3A, and 2E revealed the decrease in the rates of O-dealkylation and N-demethylation catalyzed by CYP 450 1A1/1A2 and 3A4 under pathological conditions, whereas 7-benzyloxyresorufin-O-debenzylase activity (which characterizes the total activity of CYP 2B and CYP 2C), the activities of CYP 2E1 (methanol oxidation), 7-pentoxyresorufin-O-dealkylation (CYP 2B), 7-ethoxy-and 7-methoxycoumarin-O-dealkylases (CYP 2B1) remained basically unchanged.
