ABSTRACT Severe Plasmodium vivax malaria may cause vasopressor‐requiring shock, profound thrombocytopenia, jaundice, coagulation activation, and transient cardiopulmonary abnormalities. Early parasite confirmation and close monitoring for evolving organ dysfunction are essential.
ABSTRACT SMA syndrome is rare and often misdiagnosed. We report a patient (38 kg; BMI = 13.6 kg/m2) previously treated unsuccessfully for recurrent gastritis, with CT‐confirmed SMA–aorta angle/distance of 9°/5 mm. After Roux‐en‐Y duodenojejunostomy, symptoms improved; he was discharged after 1 week and gained 12.6 kg at 3 months (BMI = 18.1 kg/m2).
ABSTRACT Patients with Paget's disease who receive high‐dose denosumab may develop medication‐related osteonecrosis of the jaw, particularly after dental extractions. Pre‐treatment dental assessment, careful risk communication, accurate staging, and coordinated conservative and surgical management are essential. Platelet‐rich fibrin may be used only as an adjunct, not as an established standard treatment.
ABSTRACT A 59‐year‐old man with recurrent gastric cancer began nivolumab as third‐line therapy and subsequently experienced joint pain and dry eyes. Symptoms worsened despite NSAIDs. He was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and Sjögren's syndrome, associated with nivolumab, and was successfully treated with immunosuppressive and anti‐rheumatic medications.
ABSTRACT This case report highlights the importance of clinical vigilance, the role of echocardiography, and the benefits of guideline‐directed multidisciplinary management of pregnant women with HCM in resource‐limited settings. Advocating for comprehensive multidisciplinary care models is essential in optimizing maternal and fetal health outcomes among pregnant women with cardiac pathologies.
