Rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have expanded its applications across industries, including chatbots, image recognition, speech processing, finance, and manufacturing, enhancing competitiveness and quality of life. The release of ChatGPT 3.5 in November 2022 was a turning point, accelerating information and communication technology transformation. This study identifies key factors influencing AI service adoption and diffusion using the technology acceptance model (TAM). Through a comprehensive literature review, it examines AI service frameworks, extracts determinants of user acceptance, and proposes an artificial intelligence service technology acceptance model, an extension of TAM tailored to AI contexts. Findings show that individual characteristics, system attributes, and social influence shape perceived usefulness, ease of use, enjoyment, and risk, which directly affect adoption and diffusion. The research extends the TAM for AI services and provides practical guidance for organizations and individuals to integrate AI into business and daily practice.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a mammoth impact on all spheres of human life—social, cultural, mental, and academic—to different degrees. The current study reports the authors' reflection on the Indian EFL (English as a foreign language) teachers' pedagogical challenges and opportunities on a sudden shift towards OTL (online teaching-learning). The qualitative method used here is a content analysis of narrative representations from 50 EFL teachers working in different schools and colleges/universities referring to their experiences on this unforeseen teaching situation and suggestions for improvement. In-depth analysis revealed teachers' concerns over technical problems, lack of resources, learner motivation, and participation in addition to online assessment. Amidst these limitations, the participants tried to cope with this sudden shift with resilience and often with impromptu solutions—planning, access to digital equipment, collaboration, and school policy—for improving OTL.
Comprehending the characteristics or potential benefits of global mobility of scientists has been inadequate from academic/practical perspectives. The authors attempt to fill a theoretical gap by focusing on the nature/dimensions of the mobility of highly educated people to other countries. They analyze data from the Open Researcher and Contributor ID-ORCID database and examine the characteristics of scientists as well as the propensity of these highly qualified individuals to migrate. Using 6000 migration records of PhDs from 194 countries, the authors utilize visual analytics to explore the various dimensions of scientists and their movements. Results show that the largest numbers of researchers reside in developed countries; there is net inflow of PhD researchers to developed countries. Also, scientific immigration is impacted not only by the availability of research positions in academic institutions, but also by economics (supply/demand) as well as contemporary immigration policies and social trends.
Service companies should generate and deliver superior services and manage service quality. The objective of the study is to analyze the various aspects of management of service quality. The methodology adopted is a conceptual analysis of managing service quality in organizations. Companies should manage customer expectations and product-service bundles. They should appreciate and involve technological developments and information technology in management of service quality. They should implement self-service technologies and chatbots to improve service quality. Academicians may analyze the various aspects of management of service quality and suggest effective models. Practicing managers should manage customer expectations and product-service bundles, appreciate the involvement of technological developments, and implement latest technological developments like self-service technologies and chatbots for managing service quality effectively. All these initiatives will help companies to manage service quality, deliver superior services, and to achieve growth and business excellence.
Availability of components in online systems cannot be guaranteed due to the unstable nature of the web (updates, changes, etc.). A well-designed system must take this fact into account in order to ensure the availability of services which is a very difficult challenge due to the confidentiality and autonomy of each service component. An interesting solution for this is to tolerate these problems at the composite level by having a mechanism of recovery, called Self-healing. In this work, we proposed a solution that consists of implementing a formal approach, making it possible to model a business process (web service composition) by timed automata of the type daTA, while ensuring the quality of service taking into account the functional and non-functional needs of the system (in this case, the QoS represents the response time). The main objective of this project is to create a system that allows you to compare two web service compositions in pairs, to decide whether they are equivalent or not to ensure a perfect self-healing working system by the end.
