A dosage form as a bioresorptive polymer film is one of the innovations intended for application to mucous membranes and has a number of positive characteristics such as simplicity and usability, the predicted profile of the drug substance release, the dosing accuracy and local delivery of the pharmaceutical substance. Despite the increased interest in mucoadhesive systems, currently, there are no formal techniques to standardize biopolymer films, both during the pharmaceutical formulation and the final dosage form. During the development of mucoadhesive drug forms, one of the important issues is to measure the interaction of films containing polymers of different origin in a carrier matrix with mucous tissue. The article deals with possible scoring methods of mucoadhesive parameters of the dosage form characterizing the time of its exposure on the mucosa: time loss of strength, swelling index, adhesion time. In order to adapt to physiological experimental conditions, the mucosal tissue and the aqueous medium with a pH value necessary for its hydration are used in the proposed methods. The obtained data will allow establishing the dependence of mucoadhesive parameters on quantitative relations of polymers forming a depot matrix of medicated films.
