The parameters of postural regulation in patients with Parkinson disease (PD) were studied with automatic stabilographic system Stabilan. The study included analysis of posture during maintenance of steady position and also trials in which subjects were asked to change body position. In addition influence of vibratory stimulation of leg muscles on postural control was investigated. During easy standing both with eyes open and eyes closed stabilometnc parameters in patients differ from parameters of healthy subjects: quality of equilibrium function in patients is lower that in controls, especially with eyes closed; the quotient of abrupt changes of movement direction in patients is 4 times higher than in controls; mean linear velocity of displacement of center of pressure (CoP) in patients is 2 times higher than in controls with eyes closed, with eyes open differences are less prominent. In other test subjects were asked to track with cursor, reflecting position of CoP, quick changes of target presented on screen. In PD patients amplitude of initial deviation in contrary direction, value of overshot and velocity of CoP movement were less than in controls. The experiments with vibratory stimulation of muscular proprioceptors demonstrated that healthy persons are more sensitive to vibratory influences. In patient it was difficult to evoke tonic vibratory reflex; shift of average level of stabilogram during vibration in patients was small or absent. However in part of BP patients vibration evoked large oscillations of CoP position and postural instability not observed in controls. The results obtained demonstrate that methods of stabilogram analysis could be promising from point of view of early diagnostics of PD.
