Polycrystalline powders of CdGeO3:xPr3+ containing up to 5 mol% Pr are prepared by solid state reactions of stoichiometric mixtures of CdCO3, GeO2, and Pr6O11 (corundum crucibles, 1050 °C, 5 h).
