On the basis of field test,through comprehensive analysis of test data and protection operating phenomena,the cause analysis of the unbalance protection operation for dc filter in converter station was presented;the improvement method was proposed as well.

This paper introduces and analyzes the 3ed harmonic voltages measured on generators.The transfonro' and PT will increase the 3hi harmonic voltage at the terminal of generator, and the high resistance connected to the neutral point will decrease 3 harmonic voltage on it was testified through the test .Some suggestions are given to the stator-ground fault protective relays based on the third harmonic voltages.
