Based on analysis of T-s haracteristics in the starting process of REPWSM and the skin effect how to affect the rotor parameters,the new method improving the integrated starting performance of REPWSM was proposed.In this method many measures were adopted such as:designing deep slot shape of rotor to obtain a high,flat and stiff slip-torque curve;adopting half or few pole pairs of stator windings to start motor in high slip and weaken generating or break torque.Experiments on the prototype verify the advantages of above design measures.
