ObjectiveTo make a survey on the personality characteristics of the patients with somatoform disorders and analyze their MMPI model, which is used to help clinicians diagnose and treat their patients.MethodsCase-control comparison study is adopted,53 patients with somatoform disorders are studied by questionnaire survey with Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), the results of which is compared with that of 48 healthy persons as control group.ResultsThe scores of the patients with somatoform disorder were Hs:(71.48±11.59);D:(71.5±10.85);Hy:(72.9±10.08); Pd:(62.70±11.39);Pa:(60.32±11.38);Pt:(64.40±9.74);Sc:(60.27±11.92);Si:(54.86±9.43) respectively, which are higher than those in the control group, and the difference is statistically significant (P0.01). ConclusionThe MMPI of the patients with somatoform disorders is consistent with neurosis and this kind of patients should be synthetically treated from psychology and by medicine.
