The Weizhou Island is the biggest volcanic island in the Northern Bay of South China. With the recent development of nuclear power plants along the coastline in China, more and more attention has been paid to the potential volcanic hazards form Weizhou Island volcano in site evaluation for nuclear installation in adjacent region. In this paper we conducted field investigation on the volcanic surge deposits from the last phreatomagmatic eruption of Weizhou Island volcano, and collected a series of chronology dating samples. In laboratory we picked out quartz grains and performed Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) analysis of both volcanic deposit samples and loess sample which overlays on the top of the volcanic deposits in the field. The ESR ages determined by this study, combined with the Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) ages from the previous study are in agreement within error range, and reveal that the last eruption occurred in about 13 similar to 33ka.
广西龙滩水库位于珠江干流红水河上游的广西天峨县境内,属于高山峡谷型高坝大库容水库.2006年9月水库下闸蓄水后,库区小震密集活跃.精定位结果显示,地震主要位于罗妥(A丛)、八茂(B丛)、拉浪(C丛)、坝首(D丛)、布柳河(E丛)5个深水区及库区下游天峨地区(F丛).地震丛集区域断裂发育,断裂裂隙通道为水的渗透提供了便利条件,而水的孔隙压力及其对介质的弱化作用是诱发水库地震活动的重要因素,推测库区地震活动主要沿库区断层面分布,则根据密集的小震活动可以获得断层面的形状和位置.
Through an all-directional investigation of the heavy disaster areas of the Wenchuan earthquake,and combined with Guangxi′s real circumstances,nine hints have been put forward for further reinforcing the local work of earthquake preparedness and disaster mitigation.
In this paper, the technical scheme and major equipments of digital telemetry seismic network of Baise multipurpose dam project is introduced. The network is ensured to reach the design requirement through unceasing optimization of the scheme. The monitoring capability of network and its location errors have been inspected by the earthquake legend. The results of network running process have confirmed that its technical system is advanced, and its equipments are steady and reliable. It will play an important role in seismic monitoring in the area of Baise multipurpose dam.
