Objective: To incorporate strontium into frozen dried bone by soaking method and further investigate the character of incorporated strontium element.Methods: Frozen dried bone was prepared according to a standard procedure.Then the bone was immersed into strontium chloride with a concentration of 10mmol/L under vibrating environment for 240h.They were rinsed thoroughly and frozenied.ICP-OES was used to measure the concentration of strontium incorporated in bone.Line scanning EDS,XPS and XRD were all used to analyze the character of strontium incorporated in bone.Results: Strontium concentration in frozen dried bone achieved 3.6% through soaking method treatment.Inside the bone,strontium concentration was even.The results of XRD and XPS suggested that strontium incorporated into HA crystal and also reacted with carbonate radical to form strontium carbonate.Conclusion: Strontium incorporated frozen dried bone can be made by ion-exchange method.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of combined ultrasound and rehabilitation therapy for elbow injuries. Methods From February 2006 to August 2007,we undertook ultrasound therapy combined with occupational therapy,orthosis,and psychotherapy to improve postoperative functional recovery of elbow injuries in 46 patients (observation group). The control group of another 30 patients was randomly selected and given only occupational therapy,orthosis,and psychotherapy. After three months of systematic rehabilitation protocol,the two groups were evaluated with Mayo scores and ROM. Results After treatments,the scores of Mayo and ROM increased significantly(P0.01)in each group. However,the ROM score of the observa-tion group is significantlly greater than that of the control group (P0.05). Conclusion Ultrasound therapy in combination with other therapeutic modalities was an effective method to improve the functional recovery of elbow injuries.
