Objective:To discuss associated factors of bloodstream infections related with ICU central venous catheter in our hospital, and to provide preven-tion measures. Methods:Retrospective investigation was conducted on conditions of 562 cases of patients treated with central venous catheters in our ICU from January 2010 to January 2015. Relations between infections and all factors were analyzed. Results:Occurrence rate of bloodstream infections related with central venous catheter had no correlations with complicated basic disease(P > 0. 05),but had significant correlations with patient original departments,in-dwelling times, fixation modes and puncture parts of catheter, and patient ages( P < 0. 05). Conclusion:Possible high risk factors of catheter - related bloodstream infections include complicated basic disease, surgery department origin, excessive catheter indwelling time, suture fixation, puncture part other than the subclavian and old age. Related doctors and nurses should adopt targeted prevention measures based on these risk factors,so as to improve security during the use of central venous catheters.
Objective To explore the effect of basic nursing care on prevention and control of nosocomial infections. Methods The data of 700 cases hospitalized in the First Hospital of Handan City in 2009 were randomly selected, the incidence rate of nosocomial infections and the causes for the occurrence of hospital-acquired infections were statistically analyzed.Basic nursing care was targetedly strengthened. The data of 800 cases hospitalized in the same hospital in 2010 were randomly selected, and the incidence rate of nosocomial infections was statistically analyzed. The statistical results in 2009 and 2010 were compared. The role of basic nursing care in prevention and control of nosocomial infections was observed. Results The incidence rate of nosocomial infections in 2009 was 5.9%.After enhancing basic nursing care targeted at the causes of the infections, the incidence rate of nosocomial infections in 2010 was 3.6% which was significantly lower than that in 2009,and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusions Basic nursing care plays an important role in prevention and control of nosocomial infections. It can significantly reduce the incidence rate of nosocomial infections and ensure safe and harmonious environment for medical treatment.
