There is conflict between the education reform and present system of the medical chemistry courses, because there are some obvious drawbacks in the system. Two courses in the system are basic chemistry and organic chemistry, which are taught periodically. This system divides the whole content into separated courses. In some cases those two courses are repetition of each other. It prevents medical students from holding the basic knowledge of chemistry systematically and comprehensively. The solution is, with the modern technology of education, to combine two courses to form a new system of medical chemistry in order to train creative talent for medicine.
Objective To explore the feasibility of reform on teaching chemistry in medical college. Methods A series of reform measures were taken in lecture notes teaching, forms and methods as well as experiments. Results Students obtained higher grades in the examination after reform. Conclusion The teaching reform is good for the improvement of the learning abilities of the students.
