In recent years,the renovationmeasures of near-natural channel inHaining,Zhejiang mainly include river dredging,slope consolidation and growing plantsin order to manage and restore the channel.As the key componentof channelecological construction,plants play an important rolein engineering and practice.This paper analyzed the planning design concept,principles and specific design practices for the plants in the ecological river,and proposed the advices for governing the suburb and rural riverscombing with the local reality.

Based on the landscaPe design of Zhejiang Zhoushan Shengsi Jade Garden Plot No.1,it is suggested that,for plant landscape in the new residential b1ock in the island,plant selection and plant allocation should be focused on,and advanced techniqlles should be used.

Focus on current problems existed in constructing plant landscape in residential districts,the paper proposes the principles for plant landscaping based on landscape ecological function,landscape culture and landscape dynamic aesthetics.Taking plant landscape design of Yuanshe Garden Residential District in Hangzhou as an example,it analyzes the requirements for plant allocation in different functional green areas and landscape features.Meanwhile it also highlights ecological benefit,human nature and special spirit of different places.
