The varieties and quality of pharmaceutical excipients have an important effect on pharmaceutical preparations. The three ways through which new excipients can be developed are: (1) new chemical entities or chemically denatured new excipients, (2) physically modified excipients and (3)coprocessed combined excipients. The research stituation and tendency of new excipients for solid dosage froms emphasized on coprocessed excipients are reviewed.
