In recent years,the improvement in the field of microelectronics and computer engineering has led to significant advances in ultrasonic signal processing and image construction techniques.The importance of the research on the ultrasonic phased array imaging has been described in this paper.It describes the technologies presently used for the ultrasonic phased array imaging and especially details the the principle and advantages of the new technique called sampling phased array.
