It is an important practical significance for increasing farmersu0027 income. Using principal component analysis, this paper used the statistical data of 13 districts and counties in Chongqing in 2007-2013 to calculate the composite score of progress of agricultural science and technology, in order to evaluate the countyu0027s progress of agricultural science and technology. Then the paper carried on regression analysis to study the relationship between the progress of agricultural science and technology and farmersu0027 income. The results showed that there were two ways to improve farmersu0027 income through the progress of agricultural science and technology. First, innovation accelerated the progress of agricultural science and technology, then improved the income of farmers. Second, by improving production efficiency, producing labor surplus, the progress of agricultural science and technology indirectly increased farmersu0027 income. Finally, the paper proposed policy countermeasures to improve farmersu0027 income.
