Objective To explore the practical value of formative assessment in emergency medicine teaching. Methods 96 clinical medical undergraduates who interned in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanhua University from July 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the research objects. They were randomly divided into two groups by digital table method, 48 cases in each group. The control group applied summative evaluation method, and the research group applied formative evaluation method. The test scores, emergency accuracy, teaching satisfaction and interns'' enthusiasm of the two groups were compared. Results the theoretical scores, skill examination scores and total scores of the study group were higher than those of the control group (p<0.05); The accuracy of emergency treatment in the study group was higher than that in the control group( p<0.05); The teaching satisfaction of the research group was higher than that of the control group( p<0.05); The enthusiasm of the study group was higher than that of the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion the application of formative assessment in emergency medicine teaching is ideal. It can not only improve the examination results and emergency accuracy of practitioners, but also mobilize the enthusiasm of students. The teaching quality is significant, the satisfaction is high, and the clinical application prospect is good.
