The investigation on Riemerella anatipestifer(RA) infection in 26 commercial flocks of meat-type ducks in Nanning area was conducted in the time of December 2004 to December 2005.Totally 74 isolates isolated with chocolate agar from 167 ducks with serositis were identified as RA by the biochemical reaction and the PCR amplifications of the outer membrane gene.Slide agglutination test demonstrated that all the isolates belong to serotype 2 of RA.23 Escherichia coli(E.coli)were isolated concurrently from the RA positive ducks,and with a 31% co-infection rate.The isolate rate of brain was significant higher than that of liver.A significant age resistance against RA infection was observed during the period of 8 day-old to 42 day-old.Most of the RA isolates were highly sensitive to Cefazolin,Cefradine,and Cefoperazone by the antibacterial sensitivity test with the common antibiotics.
The immunization and cross-protection test was preformed in chickens,quails,geese and pigeons by using the oil-emulsion vaccines(OEV) prepared from different APMV-1 isolates from chickens,geese,pigeons,quails,peacock,thrush,Guinea fowl,and commercial attenuated vaccine strain Clone30(C30),respectively and live C30.Sera of the birds were collected and detected for hemoagglutinization inhibit(HI) antibody against NDV at different weeks post-immunization(PI),and then all the birds were challenged with the virulent NDV at PI 5 weeks.The mean average titers(MAT) of HI antibody were 9.00-10.0 log2,7.13-7.63 log2,5.00-5.13 log2,5.63-6.38 log2(C30-OEV) and 3.38 log2(live-C30) in pigeons,chickens,geese and quails,respectively.HI titers of the group vaccinated with OEV were 5.63-6.38;All the eight OEV vaccines can provide good protections(66.75%-100%) against the challenges with homogenous and heterogeneous viruses,except that live C30 can only provide the protection of 20% in geese.The results of the study demonstrated that there is no much difference in antigenicity and immunogenicity between the classic vaccine strain C30 and recent isolates of APMV-1 or among the isolates.
禽霍乱是一种侵害家禽和野禽的接触性传染病,常表现为急性败血症,发病率和死亡率都很高,是危害养禽业的主要细菌性疾病之一.2003年10月7日,兴业县某养殖场饲养的60、80、120日龄的三群共20万羽肉鸡发生了一种急性败血性传染病,到10月27日,三群肉鸡的总发病率已达到了10%,死亡200多羽.这些鸡都于7-10日龄时免疫过LaSota、11日龄免疫传染性法氏囊活疫苗,30日龄免疫大肠杆菌和禽霍乱二联灭活油苗,40日龄免疫了禽流感-新城疫-传染性喉气管炎三联灭活油苗.经临床症状、剖检病变和实验室检测,并结合流行病学综合分析,诊断这三群肉鸡是感染了由多杀性巴氏杆菌所引起的禽霍乱.现将诊断结果报告如下:

The rapid differential diagnosis technique for detection of virulent and non-virulent NDVs was used to detect 144 clinical samples of avian paramyxovirus type 1 (APMV-1) suspect from different poultry species. Some positive samples were also diagnosed by the classical isolation and identification. The results showed that 64.58% of the samples from chickens, pigeons, geese, ducks, quail, peacock, thrush and ostrich respectively were positive of NDV. 29 Field strains of APMV-1 were isolated from 7 (avian) species origins and some were classified as mesogenic or velogenic strains of NDV by the rapid differential diagnosis technique. The results demonstrated that the developed technique of RT-PCR basis is a specific, sensitive, rapid and reliable for the diagnosis of APMV-1 infections in different poultry species origins and applicable in the laboratory diagnosis.
