Objective To study the clinical effect of recovery method of facial nerve function shortly after operation of parotid carcinoma.Methods Undergoing radical parotidectomy(including parotid,tumor and facial nerve) with interposition nerve grafts for facial nerve reconstruction to 11 patients between Jun,1984 to Oct,2005.Results All nerve function were harvested after surgery.All paitents's recovery is good.Their countenance is symmetry at rest and low-grade decline while palying after 6 month.All patients achieved a complete symmetry and got to facilitate eye closure and mouth lift 1 years after surgery.Conclusion Radical parotidectomy with interposition nerve grafts for facial nerve reconstruction can do a good effect of recovery of facial nerve function.It can not only resect tumor completely,but also fit for development of functional surgery.It is an ideal method for surgery operation.
